Hey antique....My sub $30 bourbons I've liked thus far ( and repeat buys) are Bulleit and 1835.

Yes to ER10! Thanks TA. How could I forget her. The Eagle has definitely landed on my top 5.

This KCSB120 packs some heat. I've added a cube and it definitely helps, and the flavors don't disappear. Hang around nicely!

I did not like it at all, ended up having to mix it to finish it off.

This 1792 Small Batch (that I am sipping right now as I type) is going down smoothly

BTW TA, that bottle of Belvenie 21 I got from you was unbelievable. I babied it as long as I could, but I finally killed it.

That is definitely one of the best whiskies out there.

What are some very good INEXPENSIVE bourbons & scotches? I am talking under $30.

I kind of got hooked (thanks to you guys here) on the expensive stuff.

I bought a bottle of "1792 Small Batch". It is quite good, a little harsh.

Any others to try?

How about scotches, single malts?

I am going to be mocked... Mock away!!!

The Trader Joes Store brand bourbon is good. Really good for $19 or whatever it is.

Evan William Small Batch is also very good. Don't know if you can get it for <$30.

Weller Antique is also good and in that range.

There are no single malts for <$30 that are good. Sorry.

Interested to know your opinion of them.

I've got to say there wasn't a bad pour amongst the group and will definitely pick up any of those that I come across in the wild.

If I had to rank them, it'd go 4, 1, 2, 3

1 and 4 would be my favorites, with the 4 getting the slight edge because of the light fruitiness (which I typically enjoy). I only drank about half of each sampler so I'll report back with a second opinion after I polish off the group

1 and 4 are my favorites as well. 3 was the clear last for me.

Glad you enjoyed them

ER10 (store picks typically better)
Four Roses Small Batch

Both good everyday drinkers. Moving up to $50 I'd say SAOS, Blantons, and Pikesville are some of my other favorites (when considering availabilty...could list a ton more if they were readily obtainable).

Yes, I should not have left that off...it was one of my first loves when I got into bourbon a two years ago. Sinful to leave it out!

I think Purp is using the Norlan Glass - they had a Kickstarter campaign to get their initial productions started and if you contributed you got a glass. Not sure if you an order them yet.
