I probably trust the posts of GrisGris, MD, lilwineman and BlackenedOut the most.
I would love to see a celebrity death match between Motorboat and Martini. We could stage it at the greasy/nongreasy parking lot of that drive in in North Baton Rouge.
It would have to be on the downlow, since cockfighting is banned in La.

I'm surprised that Burt Reynolds hasn't been mentioned yet. He always contributed valuable information

I trust most of the regulars here.
But I learned long ago, I never trust myself.
I am to easily persuaded

It's so hard to keep track. Perhaps Rat could create a spreadsheet with columns such as tomato in jambalaya-gumbo, potato salad in gumbo, uses cream of mushroom soup, drinks miller lite, and enjoys flour de lis pizza.

I don't think it's trust but maybe respect and in that regard I respect Motorboat for his culinary....wait a minute...
Pooponsaban seems to know a lot about smoking wieners so I respect his knowledge of big wieners and the delicate art of smoking them.
Paul Allen seems to have the culinary pulse of Pineville so I trust he has that region locked up and when I need a recommendation at Cucos he's my go to guy. I'm afraid he might be a bit touched though, bless his heart he means well.
CITWIT apparently has a real French ex wife from like France so he's got a bit of Europe covered and I respect his knowledge of pâté et fromage and French fries and even though I think he can be bat shite crazy I've come to appreciate his posts even if I need a Bletchley Park code breaker or a big bottle of gin to decipher them. What the hell he throws it out there.
I'm a fan of most on this board and I think each brings his own compartmental knowledge of a dish, recipe, restaurant, region, drink etc...and I just try to contribute and learn. I do believe all of us have a fundamental love of food, wine, beer, dining, cooking and that aspect of our lives in general which is the primary reason we read, lurk and post on this board. I believe we all want to share our knowledge and experience and I believe we all want to get better in whatever portion of this fits our lifestyle. We have great cooks here and we have non cooks who appreciate great dining. It's an eclectic group.
We have Kim Jong in the FBD thread who got me hooked and taught me a bunch about craft beer and even though I quit drinking them because of the carbs I still follow and appreciate the enthusiasm in those daily threads and learn a lot from reading and asking questions there because that gang knows its shite.
I've learned to appreciate the Mecca Mafia for what they have and contribute even though Johnny's Pizza (Baton Rouge) blows. The contributions from that area are substantial and Balls, Otis, Geauxt and the boys know how to cook. I miss Josey Wales contributions as do us all.
I appreciate the New Orleans contingent as it shows what good dining, especially at a neighborhood level, can and should be and yes being from Baton Rouge I am jealous on one hand and thankful that I live an hour away and am able to enjoy all aspects of it on a regular basis yet enjoy my business and raising my family in Baton Rouge, which despite some posters discomfort for the place has provided me with a safe haven, a great living and good and getting better dining in its own right. Glass and the gang do a good job of keeping that area well documented and I've learned a lot from them.
It's a good board and although I can be an a-hole many times I do appreciate and respect what each and all posters contribute. If I didn't I wouldn't still be around.
At this moment I have a Big Green Egg loaded with wings in the rain and just decanted a 1986 Mondavi Reserve which I will sip and watch the kids swim in the rain. Life is very good and I hope all of you enjoy your Friday evening.

However if I had to pick for trust, since that's what the op requested and by trust I believe you mean in cooking knowledge I'll give you three that anyone on here can trust.
Gris Gris
Kajungee
TreeDawg
All three are head and shoulders above the rest and should be acknowledged.

I think everyone provides valid opinions, minus blanket statements about how everything here or there is terrible. I may have even been guilty of that before.
I think most have you have already identified the experts of specific cuisines or regions.
I know locally, when we provide valid opinions, it can positively help some of these restaurants just starting out and trying to get on their feet. As well as identify old favorites to new generations.
