Going next week for a conference out by the airport. Going to head into town 1 night for dinner. Looking for a good recommendation. Looking to keep it around 200-250 pre tip. I have been to all the pizza places, also gibson's and chop house before so looking for something new. Thoughts?

Purple pig
Hopleaf bar
piece pizza and brewpub. It's not Chicago style. It's way better.

I was a little underwhelmed by Girl and the Goat, but everyone else seems to absolutely love it.

Any specific type of food OP is looking for?

You are wanting to drop that kind of cheddar let's get something more upscale than Girl and the Goat.

the purple pig is also incredible but it's a little hectic and I'm not sure they even take reservations. Worth a call though

I agree, it was nothing amazing. I would have a hard time visiting again if I'm back in Chicago.

Rosal's on the other hand was really good, I recommend going there for good Italian food.

Was coming here to say Girl and the Goat, but seeing that everyone has already said it and you said it's booked solid, I'll suggest Perrenial Vivant. It's in the Lincoln Hotel and has unbelievable cheese and charcuterie boards if that's something you enjoy.

I had something called milk bacon there. It's literally bacon that's been cured in milk somehow. It was delicious.
