Did you read any of the threads at all? Everyone was using 1.5-2 bags, and 1-2 boxes of salt, cayenne, liquid boil, etc on top of the chackbay. You just wasted a whole sack because you didn't read.

First time I boiled, i had 2 sacks and a 100qt pot.
I did 1.5 bags of chack, 1.5 things of salt, a bottle of liquid, and a hefty portion of cayenne. They were bland.
Second batch, i did 2 bags of chack, 1.5 things of salt, a bottle of liqud, a bunch of chinese red pepper, hefty amount of cayenne, and they were incredible.
I dont know how to replicate it down to the first batch level, so i dont think its worth it to waste a first sack of crawfish just to get to a second good sack.

On the 1st sack to 2 bags of chack and 16oz of liquid zat in addition to everything else.

I can't get my hands on either I am sure here in Houston in time for Friday's boil but what about Chinese red pepper? Is it found in most stores? How much to add and when? I generally use Zats because it's easy to get here.
Chackbay is on Amazon, one day ship it.
Says I will get it on Friday if I order in 2 hours. This is a three pack.

Nope. Didnt work for me. Next time I did it, i thought 2 bags (in addition) would be the answer. Didnt work out. Second batch was fantastic again, but the severly lacking first batch is just not worth it to me.
This past weekend I did two more boils, this time with my old trusty swamp dust. 1 bag in the first in addition to half a bottle liquid and they came out much better than the first chack did. Second batch replicated. Probably not better than the second batch of chack had turned out, but I didnt waste a whole sack of crawfish.

I really just want to get my hands on this secret Chinese red pepper. Is that what it is actually called on the bottle?

It's just the type of pepper they use instead of cayenne, I'm sure you can find it on Amazon. Never looked for it by itself in stores.

Have you seen that in Rouses?

I would like to just get in at the store and try it out on Friday here in Houston.

Surely an Oriental market in Houston will have it. Looks just like ground cayenne, but has a different flavor.

I just bought the 3pk on amazon. $30 for 2 day shipping. Curiosity is expensive.

What is your aversion to Amazon? You could get chackbay before the boil, lol.

I like Chackbay and liquid Zatarain. Personally I can't tolerate a bunch of salt so those two allow me to keep the salt down. Chackbay is not worth $10 a bag although I understand you bought it online. For the $2.89 I pay for a bag it's worth it. Let me tell you how to use Chackbay so you don't screw up a whole sack of crawfish.
80 quart pot
2 bags of Chackbay
16 ounces of liquid Zatarain
1 cup of cayenne
1-1/2 boxes of salt
If you are using one of those large 120 quart pots I would use 24 ounces of liquid Zatarain and 2 cups of cayenne along with 2 bags of Chackbay and 2 boxes of salt.
