All food is more expensive. Seafood prices seem especially high in my area.

I just had a Mexican lunch for 10.99. Included three chicken enchiladas verdes, rice and beans, chips and salsa, and a cup of soup. Not bad for 11 bucks. Now I could have gone to a chain and easily spent double that.

ETA, it also included free ice tea. Point being, find a mom and pop Mexican place.

You girls must have week stomachs. Seriously. What is different about Taco Bell than any other place...do you think they put laxatives in it? It's a tired adage.

For the other poster, I bet that mexican pizza ain't going to be on the value menu.

Call them yourself.

There is a Sonic near by. We can meet up after a couple of margaritas.

Like I said, find a mom and pop for good, cheap tex-mex.

I don't know, but I've stopped going to El Paso. The prices go up each time and the quality / service goes down.

I imagine the lack of illegal immigrants is hurting their labor costs.

Sarcasm I'm sure. Doubt there is a shortage of immigrants looking for work in Houston. An El Paso opened near us a year or so ago. It's good for what it is. Pappasitos is a stones throw away but would cost significantly more.

Find a mom and pop. When we moved out of the city we lost our close connection to local our taqueria, Tecate on Ella and 610. I'm glad we found a local Tex-Mex place to fill the bill.

Overpriced pre-covid. Probably insane now.

And you're 100% spot on. Find the neighborhood taqueria. $1.00 street tacos all day on Fridays by me. Getting out of there under $10 can be done if you're alone.

I say no you didn't because I had Mexican for lunch myself. Local place, family owned. And the steak "Ruby Special" I had listed for $10,99. But with the $1.50 tax and tip I had lunch for $16. Not $10.99 like you claim. But if you're saying you actually got all that food, plus tax and tip for $10.99 then I'll retract my statement that you're lying. Or we can just meet at Sonic.

Of course it didn't include tax and tip. Granted that same lunch could have been acquired for a couple of bucks less a couple of years ago. $1.50 tip on 10.99 says a lot about you.

Ah. So you didn't have lunch for 10.99 AND you can't read. Nice

We can agree to disagree but nothing in my post was inaccurate. Find me a lunch special for 10.99 list that includes everything I had. Margaritas for us both. I'll skip Sonic because I was too full. Cheers brother.

We had casual Mexican last night. We got food for 2 adults and 1 child, and 2 margaritas. It was less than $40 after tip. That's pretty cheap for a sit down meal.

Taco Bell is the only chain left in America that sells USDA grade D beef to the public. So its not a tired adage.....it just is what it is.
