About 12 bucks per pound in NJ right across the river from NYC, tried them once, horrible.
Now I just ship three sacks up every year and boil them myself

Why people buy crawfish in January and complain about the price is beyond me.
I don’t know about highest but I do remember going to Camp Bayou Corne circa 77-78 and buying them for $.10 a pound live.

Talked to a farmer yesterday that raises crawfish. Saturday 9 men ran traps on about 700 acres and they caught a total of 69 lbs. He collected $3.25 per lb. That was the total catch for the week.

Or catching them out of minnow ponds for free.

It's only $5.99/lb. at a couple restaurants in Houston this week.

KC’s ended up being $5,85/lb. still small to medium but the flavor was some of the best I’ve had

Crawfish run about 1 oz per, or say 16 per pound
Sammy's at $8 a pound dats .50 apiece

This. It's like comparing LSU vs northwestern state ticket prices compared to LSU vs Bama ticket prices.

That's the point I was trying to make. Supply and demand. There are no crawfish now so of course the prices are stupid high.
Check back in April. The prices were pretty damn good last year for the bugs. Don't ever expect the stupid low prices from 10 years ago.

$7.95-$8.95 is not uncommon per pound in Houston and that’s without corn, potatoes. Btw this is the places with cheap prices. Nothing like playing $8.95 for mushy crawfish sprayed all over the outside with seasoning.
It's pathetic how Texas people try to copy Louisiana and can never pull it off

I've had the best crawfish of of my life in TX. They don't take Shortcuts or do stupid shite just cause their padain did it that away.
