What's the deal with Turkey and the Wolf?

I was craving a sandwich that isn't a poboy.
I decided to try the heavily hyped TatW.
I parked two blocks away only to read the menu and walk back out.
The only protein sandwiches are Bologna at $13 and a lamb neck.
I saw salads and such.
I was bummed I expected them to have a decent selection. Bologna? ?

If you like mayo and bologna and white bread you are set at this place.

It’s an overhyped hipster place. What did you expect

The lamb neck is damn good.
They make a good sandwich. That's about it.

Have good stuff there. Put themselves in position to get some awards. Hype off the charts. Good food. Not worth waiting in a line for.
Go to Steins instead. Lets you skip the line and get better food.

Go get the fried oyster sandwich at Casamentos and call it a day.

There was no line, just one couple a head of me. Steins was packed though.
I just didn't see anything that made me want to get it.
Didn't eat yet.

It's presented as stoner food. The bologna sandwich is pretty good.

The wife and I tried to eat there one Saturday a while back. It was cold and she wasn't sitting outside. Just as we walked in a table opened up by the door and she sat down as I was getting ready to order.
Some fat hipster bitch told her that she could not save a table while ordering. I guess you had to get your food and stand up like a fool waiting for a table to open.
Even as intoxicating as the fried bologna sandwich sounded, it would not overcome their poor seating options so we left.

Bologna on white bread, mayo, lettuce, tomato salt and pepper. $1.65 at St Gabriel General Store.
Same cost for a hogs head cheese sandwich.

The sandwiches are good but the menu is definitely different. Definition of a hipster restaurant.

I just looked and they removed the damn Ham sandwich from the menu and replaced it with a sweet potato sandwich!?!
It’s def a hipster haven but everything I’ve had there is good. I’ve had the “non protein” options that you’re referring to and the collard green melt was very very good. As another poster pointed out the wedge salad is the GOAT. The cabbage salad also very good. The bologna sandwich is “chef’y” thick cut bologna if that makes a difference. Although I don’t understand it, They have removed my two favorite sandwiches being the chicken fried steak and now the ham.

Havent been there yet. But, I've been to stein's deli (same owner i think?)...
110% incorrect. Dan Stein owns Stein's. Virginia hipster owns Turkey and the Wolf.

Did they take the ham sandwich off the menu? That would be wild. It was one of their mainstays
I’m a fan. The Ham sandwich used to be amazing, but if it’s gone I’d suggest the Tacos Inauthentico.
I’m a fan. I generally Like the style of food that takes the things you know and elevates certain ingredients but doesn’t throw away the classic elements. Also I love Anyplace that supports American cheese.
It’s small so you do have to order before you sit. I’ve never had too much of an issue.
