Damn, usually when I see a thread go completely the opposite of how the OP envisioned it, it's on the OT.
Fried pickles are the bee's knees. That's a trendy phrase.

All restaurants have fried pickles on their menus because pickles cost about $20 for a 5 gallon bucket. They're pure profit.

They're awesome.
I've loved them since I was a kid.

I love fried jalapeno slices. Great on sandwiches.

Pluckers had great fried pickles! I say had bc it's been a few years and not sure if they are still up to par

Fried pickles with ranch sauce at Pluckers is heaven on earth when hammered.

Has to be sliced pickles though. I hate when they just fry the spear, it's definitely not the same.

Absolutely. I can't even eat the pluckers ones. Fried spears are no bueno.

Ever had deep fried bacon? Or, chicken fried bacon?
No I haven't BR. Actually we try to stay away from fried stuff. Not that we're all that successful.

I know fried pickles are trendy, but I don't get it.
Despite the fact that everyone here has been eating them since Roosevelt was president, I hear what you are saying. They are on way more menus than they used to be.
They are fine. Nothing more.

I freakin LOVE fried pickles.
Have to be Chips, buttermilk and fish fry, good quality ranch.

What Jambo said, but with honey mustard. I'm not going somewhere because a place has them, but if a place has them I generally consider getting them.

Ya know, they are often just rolled in flour and not done especially well. Either not fried long enough, or coated well. It's like the onion at outback. When it's on, it's freakin killer, but a lot of the times it's just a mess.
Never tried with honey mustard, will def give that a whirl next time

Yep. Key to the brief soak before frying.
