I'm frying the last bag of specs from the freezer, and my buddy is going to smoke some chicken quarters. We'll probably make guac, queso, and salsa to snack on as well. The wife will be in charge of dessert, probably brownies or chocolate chip cookies.

Bought enough avocados on sale at Rouses to make a large bowl of guacamole, have the scoop type chips to go with it and pulled out 2 quart bags of smoked pulled pork I made back in December and froze for later use. I'll have that on some pistolettes and chase it down with some cold beer and/or cocktails.
And if that's not enough, I have a large bowl of salad I'm making today with greens from my garden and an assortment of vegetables from the store to complete it.

I don’t care about downvotes...but it amazes me when I see normal, well written and honest, post like yours get them. I hope that was mistake in scrolling and not someone thinking you making a salad out of your garden is hate worthy.

It has always made me wonder just what some folks are thinking when they downvote posts. I've had some ask me for a recipe for a dish and I'll post it the way I cook it and it never fails that someone will downvote it-----but never give a reason for such action.
If someone doesn't like a recipe I post, then by all means---post your own.
To me, some on these sites just love to be "that person".
