I used to rotate between entrees: roast beef, crawfish etouffee and the baked fish.

Sides were mashed potatoes and green beans, but sometimes I'd get the fried okra.

I'd always get that Italian salad with the anchovy and a slice of garlic bread.

I'd typically get some sort of chocolate dessert, be it cake or pie.

Hamburger steak patty
Mashed potatoes and gravy
Mac & cheese
Garlic bread

Sometimes I would forego the hamburger steak and do a veggie plate with the potatoes, mac & cheese, broccoli casserole or some other veg concoction.

ALWAYS got the chocolate pudding, though.

BRILLIANT strategy putting the dessert first.

guaranteed while you were starving and waiting in line you'd keep eyeballing it and eventually break down and get it.

Was one really close to G&O Heat Transfer, where I was VP of Quality for 8 years. Probably ate lunch there 7-8 days a month. Ding How Chinese and then other places.

Krab salad
Hamburger steak or Fried Chicken
whole kernel corn
Fried Okra
Jalapeno Cornbread
Ice Tea

Sometimes Liver
Sometimes Catfish
Sometimes Square Fish
Sometimes Roast Beef

In those days they had a Dilly Plate at lunch. Meat and two sidesCheaper than anywhere else around

Not Picadilly or Morrisons, but if you are ever near Tucker, GA (NE Atlanta metro), Matthews Cafeteria is legit. It's been there about 80 years and was on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. The buffet line isn't as long, but the food is good. Their website lists the daily offerings.
