If we are at a point where you brag about having Buffalo Trace all is lost.

Went about a year or two here in NGA where it was really difficult to find after being rather ubiquitous in the preceding years. Within the last couple of months, the spigots have apparently opened as I am now regularly seeing bottles on most shelves. Granted, assholes are charging $30+, but it's readily available.

The Eagle Rare thing drives me crazy. No reason it should be so hard to find in Houston. And when you do find it, the price is $70-$100. It used to be my weekly drink. Now I have to treat it like a special occasion.

Guarantees you are getting at least a 4 year old bourbon at 100 proof. And it’s coming from one place. So if you see a bottle you’ve never heard of or tried before and it’s bottled in bond you know it’s got decent proof and age on it. And not a blend of MGP or something you’ve already had before.

I just bought a case for $26.99/bottle. They are not hard to find in TN right now.

Eagle Rare was a regular buy for me back in 2009-2015. I'm am seeing ridiculous price bumps on stuff around here. Elmer T Lee was priced at $300. Weller Special Reserve $80.

2 things at play here.

Buffalo Trace are masters at creating demand with artificial shortages.

Which in turn makes a bunch of neckbeard losers go out and “clear da shelves” to show off their bourbon collection to other neckbeard losers.

Such as this?

For whatever reason, it's showing up on shelves now without having to grovel or even ask. I've bought 5 bottles this Fall.

No you don’t. One of the hardest bourbons to find

I only ever buy the store picks, but I see regular Buffalo Trace weekly at a minimum.

It's been very difficult to locate around BR for most of the year. I did just see a few grocery stores brag about having a few cases and posting about it on social. Seems to be a very isolated issue in this market though.

Because it moved distributors about a year or so ago. I still needed to have my order "approved" to get some for a project tho.

My local Winn-Dixie in Destrehan has BT on the shelves all the time. $25/750ml. ER and Blanton's have been popping up a lot in Metry recently as well. All MSRP.

I think the BT hype has died down, if anything.
