I'll do that except I'll do a standing rib roast. I just prefer it over the beef tenderloin.

Agreed, I like a standing rib roast more.
Haven't done it for a large group, but a crown rack of lamb is mighty impressive.

A well executed prime rib with Yorkshire pudding and a smear of horseradish, would have my undivided attention.

A crown rack of pork with a dressing cooked in the center looks nice on the table. Don't forget the paper frills.

I grew up eating Yorkshire pudding. My mother made the New York Times recipe from the mid 50's. Which is eggs, milk and flour. Great stuff.

BBQ shrimp loads of french bread and crunchy cole slaw

My go to is rack of lamb roasted in a cast iron skillet with a 3 mustard cream sauce for dipping. Everyone loves it and the lamb lollipops look great for presentation.

Ahi Tuna on the grill with red onion nectarine relish, got to have good tuna and fruit.
Look it up, great and easy.

Beer Shrimp and about 4 big loaves of French bread.

Grill a beef tenderloin, stuffed potatoes, asparagus and good red wine
We did similar a few years back. I made twice baked potatoes ahead of time so they just had to go in the oven when it was time. Dad brought a big tenderloin, and we sliced it to whatever thickness everyone wanted and cooked it to desired doneness. The women got the smaller pieces near the end and the men had fat steaks from the middle cooked medium rare

How impressed are we talking? I think we need more info. My first thought would be to look up the Lobster Man that has been talked about here, the prices I remember were ridiculously reasonable.
This. A clam/lobster bake with lobster, clams, mussels, and shrimp is always a crowd pleaser in the south especially for a casual affair because it's unusual and lobsters are a premium protein but pretty cheap from the lobster guy. You can use a crawfish pot with an insert to steam everything at one time so it's finished together and they come out great. If it's more formal you can just do lobsters and make some risotto.
If you have an immersion circulator (and it's not summer) you can do 72 hr short ribs.

Red Beans and Rice or Jambalaya
Mine is not that great, but I live in Georgia, and for the most part they don't know that.

Since I'm in Dallas, I would do a redfish court bullion since people here haven't even heard of it.
Second choice would be New Mexican stacked enchiladas "Christmas".....red sauce and green sauce.

Baked Ziti and Meatballs is great for a big group. Also one of my favorite dishes. Lasagna is also good for a big group.
I bet you know how to cook a meatball stew, chicken and sausage gumbo and a big mess of squirrels.

Seafood
Fried specks
Hush puppies
Fries
Or
Boiled shrimp, potatoes, etc
Easy, and as mentioned, it leads to social drinking and conversation.

Paul Prudhomme's Shrimp Diane has been the most well-recieved meal from people in the states and out of country.
I usally have a starter of Oysters in cream sauce served in vol-au-vents with Shrimp Diane and freshly baked french bread to follow... finish with a salad then stilton with fresh bing cherries, apples, and port for dessert. The richness of the meal precludes huge servings and the flavor profile is unmatched for the neophyte.
