Mei Fun, also called Chow Mei Fun. it’s like Lo Mein but made with really thin pasta like angel hair.

If I don’t want rice/noodles, then I get Moo Shu. It comes with Chinese pancakes usually, but I just eat the meat/veggies. The sauce likely has carbs in it, but it’s a lower carb option than the others. Proteins vary- my daughter doesn’t eat shrimp and my wife doesn’t eat red meat/pork, so it kind of depends on what they want

Wonton Egg Drop Soup on the side, Rangoons or dumplings

My wife has a last minute standard order of:
Peanut Butter Chicken
Sauted green beans
House rice noodles.

They throw in fried rice with this for some reason. We eat on it for days

From like a cheap place in a strip mall? Normally we will get a pupu platter, a lo mein and something else like General Tso or Kung Pow.

It's basically your own Chinese buffet for two.

I know Panda Express isn't legit Chinese, but my wife and kids like it. We order about once a month or so. I like how they have the bigger plate option. You get 3 meats and 2 sides with that, so we get a couple of those with all sorts of options and it is enough to feed all of us. Orange Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, and they have a Teriyaki chicken which is just chicken thighs. Noodles and Rice in each plate, plus some Crab wontons and Spring Rolls.

Sesame or General Tso chicken, veggie lo mein, broccoli with garlic sauce. Egg roll with duck sauce and hot mustard (which I just learned most places have homemade versions of for like $0.50 which apparently blows the packets out of the water).

That’s literally my exact go to order.

If I trust the beef from the place not to be laden with gristle — beef and mixed veg.

Here lately I am on a Bourbon chicken kick with veg fried rice.

Always an egg roll with duck sauce.

Almond chicken, but not everyone has it. Otherwise it's General Tso's.

Chicken Fried Rice for late night snacking.

Honestly we usually just get buffet take out from our local favorite because I like the variety.

If I had to pick one probably Gen Tso or Mongolian Beef or something similar.

I miss the days of this style of takeout, but I haven't seen one of those small places with an actual buffet you can serve yourself from in years. If they're out there in BR, they aren't near where I live, sadly.

Ours is Four Seasons in Covington.
We’ve been going there for over a decade but only ever figured out a couple years ago that the take out is quite affordable. Like, the thought never occurred to us before to get it as take out and I have no idea why.
