I grew up with Bourgeois, but i have to say Jerry Lee's has some damn good jerky.

I am not a fan of the thin hard to chew jerky at all.

This, but Prasek's isn't bad and there is some German place on 10 in Sealy that has legit jerky as well. Slovacek's maybe?????

Stripes sells a brand from Uvalde called WC. Thin and chewy.

ETA I think I saw Praseks jerky at HEB in the deli section

Don's in Carencro makes thick cut jerky and sometimes they leave a little fat on it. Some of the best I've personally had.

Might you thinking about New Braunfels Smokehouse? LINK

Admittedly I go back to 2004 when I-35 was 'just' 6-lanes and I could afford the time and money to buy a pound of NB jerky to snack on all day long. Good times.

It's pretty good, I find it's a little to salty though.

My favorite is from Ken's Deer Butcher Shop in Raceland. He only makes about 6 months out the year when it's not deer season. Lightly smoked, a little thick not really chewy.

This is the best store-bought beef jerky.

Of the mass made brands in the grocery store, I like Duke’s when they’re on sale for under 5 bucks a bag.

Don't think they have flavors. Just straight up jerky. Where do you live?

ETA: I see that they do. I have only had regular.

FYI the jerky in the vacuum pack bag from the gas station is loaded with preservatives. The original from the butcher shop isn't.
