I can report that this Bourgeois jerky is some damn good stuff!

I don't think I've had jerky as juicy as this. They best I've had up here in Ohio is more the flat, wide portions that you tear into strips. Its very flavorful, but dry. Just a different style.

A+ from my wife as well. Gonna give a bag to her dad for his review.

Thanks for the recommendation!

Glad you enjoyed it. I've only had it once when a vendor brought some to our office in Houston. Was easily the best beef jerky I've had but I'm no connoisseur.

Make your own. It’s super simple. Take a flank steak, slice thin, then bathe it in a salty marinade of your choice (such as teriyaki sauce and liquid smoke), then dehydrate. Use a food dehydrator or be like Alton Brown and use a box fan, bungee cords, and furnace filters.

My first batch was almost as good as a great butcher/meat center near where I live that is famous for their own. The price savings more than make up for time invested.

I have a dehydrator and been meaning to make my our. This Bourgeois is better than I can make though, I'm sure.

For the masses, Pacific Gold beef jerky sold at Costco is pretty darn good

Bourgeois has been my favorite for a few years now but it's recently been surpassed by No Man's Land out of Oklahoma. Found it in a gas station then ordered some from their website. It's all good! More of a thin, dry type but great flavor. The hot isn't too hot and their sticks are the best I've ever had.

Lived in Kentucky for several years and got hooked on mingua brother jerky and never branched out from that point. Might be missing some others but still order their stuff online pretty frequently to this day. Love their hot and regular. Might have to try some of the brands mentioned if available online.

Out of curiosity, has anyone had Matt-Hat Jerky? Not that it's the best, but I ordered a sampler/variety couple months back - I really enjoyed it.
