What happened to higher end dining?!

Wife and came to suburban Houston to visit friends and celebrate anniversary. Perry's steakhouse (business casual recommended)...t shirts, ball caps, and vomit on the bathroom floor. Sadly, this has become far too common in general

We live in Vegas and the shite people wear to high end places here is hilarious. One of the best parts of going to eat here is the people watching

Maybe going to a chain is the problem. I've never experienced that at local fine dining places.

Love Perry’s but we only sit in the bar area so we can wear hats, t-shirts and shorts. It shouldn’t be considered fine dining, they serve sausage.

I would have to think there are no wife beaters in the top 25 or so restaurants in Nola.
I hate the trend of sloppy dressing in restaurants. People need to have just a little self respect.

Yea, expensive dining doesn’t mean fine dining. Two different things. Perry’s isn’t cheap (though in the world of steakhouses, I think it is pretty reasonable). It is by no means fine dining though.

When the wife and I (no pics) first moved to Idaho from So Cal, we went to one of the better steak houses in town. The waiter, a very nice young man (it's Idaho, everyone's nice) said we looked "spiffy" and asked if we had just come from church.
After he left I said to the wife "I need to get some flannel."

The last funeral that I went to had a guy wearing a baseball cap. And he knew the deceased well. It is very, very difficult to figure people out these days.

People are dressing like slobs now for the most part------especially young people.
I was in my Drs. office 2 weeks ago waiting for my appointment and in walks two young 20 something year olds, both in pajama pants, slippers and t-shirts. The gal walked in on the phone talking about as fast as an auctioneer and non-stop and the guy never took his face off his cellphone screen as he sat next to her.
Gladly, I got called back for my appointment after a couple minutes and by the time it was over, they were no longer in the waiting area.
I was in my Drs. office 2 weeks ago waiting for my appointment and in walks two young 20 something year olds, both in pajama pants, slippers and t-shirts. That is one reason why I like Galatoire’s. They have one of the strictest dress codes in town but in recent years even their enforcement is becoming more and more lax.
