I was flipping through the ads they send in the mail on Wednesdays, and your best bet looks like using those fast food coupons if you eat at one of the places they send them for. I was pretty surprised at some of the deals.
That said - If you “deal shop” local restaurants with burger nights or Taco Tuesday, fast food becomes a lot less worth it.

I think pretty much every place where your forced to get Combos for $8+ is a fricking rip off. It's easier to name places that do offer good deals.
McD's you can get 2 mcdoubles, large fry(use their app) and lg drink for $4.50.
Taco Bell's dollar menu is pretty shite now and the $5 boxes were becoming shite but the new make your own boxx is pretty sweet.
Wendy's 4 for 4 is legit.
Arby's does decent 2 for $5 and happy hour.
BK has good deals on the app.
Chipotle Bowl is definitely enough for 2 meals, especially if you have tortillas at home. But they increased the prices by a buck "due to covid".
Canes/zaxbys/CFA seems overpriced but their chicken is way better than everyone else's. Pretty much anyone not listed is a rip off forcing you to pay $10 just not to cook.

None of the ones that have value menus are, IMO. It's all garbage you're putting in your body, but it's pretty easy to eat at most of them for under $5 if you just order crap from the value sections of the menu and just drink water.

Run some numbers for what it costs to operate the place where those two ingredients (which btw is not the only things used to make that sandwich), don't forget labor while you're calculating.

All of it, but food prices are up all over, have you been to the store lately? I have not found any FF worth the calorie, carb and sodium content, it's not even about prices, it about health.
I have as much money as I can ever spend, but I cringe when I have to pay a what a cheap restaurant meals costs. I cook very well and very fast, I don't mind spending $35 for a steak we share, or a nice piece of fish.
In general, I think dining out, even fast food, will take a hit for a few years.

Which is why I said “probably” cost $1.50 to make. Don’t know what the sauce is.
Pickles are another cent
Packaging probably around 10 cents per unit
You can round up and call all that $1. Tell me what the cost of the sauce, flour and batter is per sandwich. May be another miscellaneous cost or two in there. What do ya get?
