Bergeron's in Bossier City. They've got a wide variety of boudins, excellent andouille and sliced smoked turkey and ham.

Rabideaux's in Iowa and Hebert's in Maurice are both really good. Billeaud's in Broussard has a nice selection of stuff too but my favorite has to be Lagneaux's in Lafayette. I've never bought anything there, cooked and ate it then thought, I'm not getting that again. I have at the other two.

Heberts in Maurice was always my favorite. One that I never see mentioned here is Chops in Broussard. Really, really good boudin and lots of very unique and creative types of sausages. Plus the place is absolutely immaculately clean.

I am honestly shocked. It has been a long long time since I moved from Lafayette so it must have went down hill.

What is it about chops that you do not like? The boudin?

I've only been a few times and I really liked the stuffed boneless chicken I got, but they never had that particular stuffing again. (And I don't recall what it was.)

My husband loves their boudin but I'm loyal to Billeaud's, so he just gets some for himself. I don't like the taste of the pepper. It dominates.
