I made Instant Pot Beef & Broccoli. I used some razor-thin sliced beef from the Asian market, and added some water chestnuts for crunch.

We're going to serve it over fresh noodles from the aforementioned Asian market, and we have sauteed mushrooms for either the side or on top.

Vodka waters to wash it down.

Running late here. Crustless Quiche.

Having a nice glass of keto blended wine while we wait. It is a flirty blend of grape Krystal light and keto electrolytes.

Friend,

Last week I purchased a beautiful set of filet mignons at Sam's. Sam's has better beef than Costco, but it makes Costco snobs feel better about their wasted membership to say that Costco beef is better. Sam's has some of the best steaks and tonight's meal proved the rule. At just $10/pound, this isn't that much more than a pound of ground beef was running earlier this year. It seems there may be a glut of steak now, and I noticed that even Sam's prime filets were just $13/pound. I do not like fatty food, marbled, as they say, so I generally avoid prime, as it is an inferior steak for those who like the taste of beef and beef alone. If I wanted fat, I would buy fat. Don't get me started on Kobe and those fancy Japanese cuts.

I do not think a good steak needs particularly special attention and directions on cooking. Those who like to complicate things have quite complex instructions. What I do is heat the grill as hot as it will go. Tonight I got it to 700. I threw the steaks on the grill straight from the fridge, without seasoning. At about four minutes, enough time for me to pick some flowers for Mother, I flipped the steaks with my fingers. After bringing in the flowers and arranging them in a nice crystal vase, I returned with a plate and put the steaks on it, again, with my bare hand.

At that point, I put a cut of butter on the steaks and then seasoned with salt and pepper. The feast began after that. While I enjoyed the steaks, I could not help but think of how I haven't been to Golden Corral in nearly a year. Three pounds of steak just does not cut it, so I cannot wait to once again get my fill at the Corral. One day soon I hope.

Yours,
TulaneLSU

Went to Ruth's tonight for my daughter's birthday. Food was good and it was a good time. First time for my kids to go to a "fancy" restaurant. My son wanted broccoli but only raw. He then proceeded to eat only the stems and not the florets. The waiter was amused.
