I normally post my dinner hours after I’ve eaten because I’m a 5pm dinner gal. Today, 4pm! It was ready early.

Turnip and Mustard green mix.
Usually a no-no food for me since I take warfarin blood thinner to help prevent blood clots on my artificial heart valve.
However, my INR check yesterday was way too high, which can lead to disasterous bleeding, so greens are ok for a day or two because they are full of vitamin K, which will pull my clotting factor back down to the recommended range of 2.5-3.5.
Plus I really like greens and am always happy when I can eat some.

My kind of meal right there!
Growing up we always ate at about 5:30. My grandpa did the cooking and thats where the bus dropped me off. My mom would get there at around 5:30 so we would eat. Did this until about high school.

The wife, kids, and dogs headed to the in-laws earlier this afternoon. I’ll leave out out early Saturday morning and meet up with them, so I just stopped off at Krystal’s and got some burgers and chili cheese fries. I really like their CC fries, but only eat there 1-2 times per year. Everything coupled nicely with Four Roses and Sprite. (Yeah I know, tell me you’re trashy without telling me you’re trashy)

Taught some Alabama folks how to make a proper Gumbo today. Unfortunately, that’s all the pictures I have as the booze started flowing generously after the roux.
