Urban South has been releasing new beers every Wednesday in June. Yesterday at 5, pre-orders started and two interesting gose's sold out with a quickness.

quote:

Luscious Watermelon Gose 5.3% ABV 10 IBU Urban South Brewery New Orleans, LA This Gose was aged on watermelon gummi candies and then fresh pressed watermelon juice and pulp! 4pk 16oz To Go $20.00

quote:

Ultraviolet Blueberry & Green Cardamom 6% ABV 10 IBU Urban South Brewery New Orleans, LA Straight up blueberry pie from double blueberry and milk sugars added and then finished with notes of bright citrus from green Cardamom. 4pk 16oz To Go $16.00

I've been critical of the sheer volume of beers being release but these two caught my eye. Can't wait to try them.

Like, I'm sorry guys but craft beer has jumped the shark. I feel like the bud light acolytes from 10 years ago. Beer is basically some kind of candy made for children now.

Parish special releases usually sell out immediately. Not a lot of other local brewers do. Urban South had a pre-release for these two beers and they sold out in hours. Just saying it's interesting that some other local breweries are selling out pre-releases like Parish. And the beer sounds good.

This is true. Even before COVID, their last few non-DDH Ghosts could be had for hours or days afterwards. Hell, they still have that Other Half collab stout and All Together available for pickup.

It’s almost as if Zima with jolleyranchers should be brought back and sold to some of the neckbeards for $4 a bottle.

The hoppy beers sell out, the stouts and others sit.... You can still get the Great Notion Stout Collab

Both of those sound awful. And no way I'd pay $20 for a 4-pack of a gose.

I think that is high as shite too. Craft beer is definitely starting to jump the shark. 4-pack of high ABV 12% IPA from All Relations is the same price.

So you see a story about some strange beers and suddenly forget about all of the great beers being made and sold these days?

Update. Delicious. Not sweet at all. Nice watermelon flavor and good balance of sour and saltiness. Good stuff.

$20 for a 4 pk and you’d be sober enough to drive to the store to buy more beer once you drank said 4 pk. Sad.

Not to mention it’s a just some small batch releases where the breweries are experimenting. Never mind that Urban South routinely puts out one of the best beer line ups in the state and region for that matter.

Gross. I bet you like ketchup on well done steaks with a side salad of iceberg lettuce topped with mayo.
