Without having to by a whole damn turkey, where can I get a decent size turkey breast to smoke in my smoker?

Walmart and other grocery stores often have turkey breasts. Will probably be frozen, and you have to look carefully. You may think it is a whole turkey until you read the package.

If you are in Baton Rouge, Calandro’s on Perkins usually has a few of the bone in breasts. I debone them myself and use the bones for stock.

They should start showing up in larger numbers soon since Thanksgiving is next month. I smoked a couple last year and they turned out great

Always good to stock up when they go on sale, probably starting the week after Halloween.

I buy bone in turkey breast at Robert several times a month year round. Great on the grill or smoker as an alternative to chicken.

Probably won’t see many this year. If you can find them from distributors they are sky high right now. Tried to get a couple cases a couple of weeks ago and was told no bueno. Turkey flu.

Calandro’s and Bet-R pretty much always have fresh turkey breasts. The butcher at Bet-R once carved off the breast off a fresh turkey for me.

We always do a turkey breast for Thanksgiving because it is Thanksgiving and you're supposed to have turkey.

But really ham is the star of the show.
