Me and my huntin' pals cook up ribeyes down at the deer camp, so eating steaks in the city is a hard pass for me!

One of Piece of Meat's signature sandwiches is a bologna sandwich, they also participated in the bake sale, and they still get almost universal praise here.

Maybe at first it was but I don't find it to be the case at all anymore.

You avoid companies when it’s convenient. That’s not conviction. You are really “principled” when it’s a hipster sandwich shop and let everyone who doesn’t care know.

I literally said you'd say that and explained the reasons why. I guess you don't read things that are contrary to your mindset.

Adobe - Have to use them for work.
Aetna - Don't think i use them for anything
Allstate - don't use them
American Express - dont use them
Amgen - don't know what pharmaceuticals they make. I take what the doc prescribes, but overall, i rarely go to the dr. Maybe once/year.
AutoZone - Don't really go there, but i'll explore other options next time.
Avon - don't think i use their products
Bank of America - don't use them
Bath & Body Works - dont use them
Ben & Jerry’s - i eat bluebell
Blue Cross Blue Shield - i use them. Employer paid, so don't have many choices.
Boeing - I fly on whatever planes the airlines provide
BP - Very large company. I'm sure there is something of their's i use. I do not get gas from there, though.
Charles Schwab - have used them in the past, but only a couple times. Going forward, i can find an alternative.
Clorox - I use Lysol
Craigslist - don't buy anything from craigslist
Converse - dont buy them
Deutsche Bank - don't use them
Diageo - ??
Dockers - don't buy them
Energizer - I use duracell for the most part.
Expedia - don't use them
ExxonMobil - again, hard to control what i buy and what products they make. But generally, i get gas from circle k, racetrac, and shell
Fannie Mae - no federal loans
Freddie Mac - no federal loans
Frito Lay - i do buy their chips. I can look into alternatives
General Electric - i do use their stuff. If i could find a quality replacement, then i'll look into it. My new house is all GE appliances and it's part of a package so i'm stuck with them.
Groupon - dont' use it
Intuit - don't think i use it, don't know
Jiffy Lube - don't use them
JPMorgan Chase - Don't really know who owns my credit cards. But this is something i could control in the future
Johnson & Johnson - depends on the product and if i trust them for my children.
Kaiser Permanente - don't know who they are
Kraft Heinz - i'm not much of a traditional ketchup and mayo guy. I prefer dijon. Again, this is something i could change in the future
Levi Strauss - another thing i can change in the future
Liberty Mutual - i do have them. But i'm always shopping for better rates
March of Dimes - n/a
Microsoft - i've got some dell products. And use some microsoft software for work. Don't have much of an alternative.
Mondelez International - ???
Monsanto - I have roundup but this is an easy change
Morgan Stanley - don't use them unless i do and don't know about it
Nike - don't buy their stuff
Oracle - again, work/software. Can't avoid
Patagonia - don't buy their stuff
PayPal - i use them. I think there are a couple other alternatives but paypal is the most convenient.
PepsiCo - i drink barq's once every 2 or 3 weeks. not a problem to avoid
Pfizer - don't know who makes the drugs i rarely take
Progressive Insurance - currently use them but not for long. Not because of this issue, but it helps
Prudential - don't use them
Qualcomm - not sure what all they own
Starbucks - i try to avoid it. Wife loves it though and i can't convince her to go elsewhere, though i've tried. I prefer my own coffee
Shell - i go there for gas. didn't know their stance. Easy to avoid
Susan G. Komen - do not donate to them. And never will
Unilever - ???
United Airlines - really depends on the flight and my options. If it's avoidable and cost negligible then sure, why not avoid them?
United Way - they donate to PP?
US Bank - I'm sure they may own a creditor that i've used or used before, but don't deal with them directly
Verizon - have ATT. Though i'm sure one of the above is a parent company of ATT.
Wells Fargo - I think they own my student loan. That loan's has been purchased 4 times now by different lenders. Again, not a choice i made, and it's almost paid off anyway.

It seems really fricking exhausting to live your life

I find the "if I like your product I'll buy it" method to work well for me, but different strokes

ETA: in regards to T&W I think the consensus is that they serve good food, but they were super over-hyped initially (Food and Wine Best New Restaurant in America? FOH), which has led to hate. If they weren't hyped like that, they probably wouldn't be as popular with tourists, but would probably receive less hate from locals. I think they'll take that trade off though.

This method works great for me too. However I don’t have the palate or stomach to consume cookies that fund the killing of babies.

Not really. Poster gave a list of companies, as trying a gotcha. I went through that list and gave my opinions. I don’t use or patronize a lot of those companies. I’m sorry this offends you.

I also try the “if you like it try it”. And like I said, I never looked up the status of those companies that the other poster posted. I just had time so I decided to see which ones I actually use. Apparently, it triggered many posters.

ETA: also, of that list, there’s maybe 5 or 6 companies that I’d have to mindfully make an effort to not use. And of those, maybe 2 would be something I’d have to research. So again, not using these companies isn’t hard. I don’t really use most of them anyway.

I own 2 credit cards and 1 or 2 retail credit cards. I don’t know who owns those retail cards from day to day, but it is not the retail company. Sorry if that went over your head.

And yes, I do own a Chase auto loan. Forgot about that one.

I thinknif You have a sandwich shop you should be a little “gimmicky”

There are enough po boy places slinging their version of the same sandwiches.

Steins is great but that’s mostly because we have no other good Jewish delis. And Jewish Delis in general have good food. There is nothing super creative about Steins.

T&TW at least gives you something different than the rest of the world and I havent Had a bad thing there to be honest.
