Can you expand beyond the parochial top 10 format
Dear Daily Koran Study Thread Friend,
I suppose I could expand it to a Top 20, but wouldn’t that be too long? Already people complain about the length of my threads. I fear doubling their length would anger some readers.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

Amazing post TulaneLSU. Can't upvote enough.
This and the Williams Blvd. sign one turned me to #TEAMTULANELSU
I think I gave you crap for the top ten xmas decorations at wal-mart and the post xmas purchase list but these are golded.
Your writing always on point but a lot of the other topics lame. The last few have been fantastically educational.
You need to get a deal for a Netflix documentary series, your stuff is that good.
When I was at LSU a friend from NOLA took me to Mosca's cash only and your post brought tears to my eyes.

Like the living trapped in a casket underground, I began yelling, “Let me out!”
My parents thought I was mad. They told me to sit still and count to ten. I could not.
In an act of disobedience and desperation, I crawled over Mother and opened the door. The bridge shook and my heart pounded. Like Rummey, I had no intention of fighting. So I took flight. Tunnel vision guided me onward to the west or south. I ran as fast as I could. Soon I approached the scene of the accident that delayed us.
I laughed way too hard at this. Great job at painting the scene. If you ever write something besides an advent, I'd read it.

Mandina’s is one of my favorite restaurants. Do they have any interesting history that I should know about?

Friends,
I'm not sure I have much to offer with Elmwood Plantation. I have no memories there because it wasn't open during my life. I do know it was owned by Carlos's brother, Joseph. Provino Mosca's son, Nicholas, became chef and co-owner of Elmwood Plantation in 1962 until 1978 when it burned. I would love to know the interactions Nick had with Carlos.
The Mosca family says that after serving in the Navy in WWII, Nick was on leave in New Orleans. Apparently, some say, he saw New Orleans needed better Italian food (really?!) and decided to stay. He told his parents, Provino and Lisa, to come down and open up Mosca's. Now why the Longo family, who ran the Willswood Tavern, was no longer good enough, I doubt we will ever know. Mosca later cooked at La Louisiane, Lenfant's and the Fair Grounds, where he was when he retired in 1987.
I have a few Mandina's stories. I will try to share them one day.
Sincerely,
TulaneLSU

I'm literally in tears. This is a masterpiece in the spirit of grapes of wrath or Moby dick.

I don’t get the love for this place.

My grandmother used to make Pineapple Fluff. You brought me a moment of nostalgia.

I appreciate the effort, but I personally think Mosca's is overrated. I've found that the majority of folks who actually like it, like it mainly due to nostalgic reasons.

Alas my dear Tulane/LSU, you have outdone yourself. However, the Oysters Mosca are the superior dish....by far. However, todayI feel as though it has slipped a little. Still good, but not the same as the 80s when I would go with my grandfather. He appreciated the shrimp more.
However, today there are better Italian restaurants. Fausto's in Metairie is under appreciated. Sal& Judy's in Lacombe. Irene's in the FQ is excellent. Leonardos in Mandeville . However I will not go to Pascal's Manale or for that matter any establishment owned by the Brennans
