The Popeye’s that I frequent still has them.

Real Popeye’s biscuits. The one they serve now are so dry they are a choking hazard.

Well damn, now I really feel like I’m missing out on something. I’ve always thought those Popeye’s rings I’ve been eating were really good for fast food rings...

It’s true. Popeyes had fantastic onion rings at one time.
And, I really miss the seafood stuffed artichoke at Carmine’s.

Someone mentioned burgers at ground pati on sherwood but they had a chili there that was just fantastic. I don't know how many people even knew they had it.
When i was a kid, and the first taco bell opened on florida blvd, they used to have a burger that was made with the taco meat. It was great.

The one by my house in BR hasn’t had it in years.

The restaurant is still vacant. It needs to be reopened...it was a Metairie institution.
I seen to recall the dipping bread priced at 2.95....that's value.

That's a damn lie. No one enjoys his stories of him and his gay lover, "Mother".

You left off "poor boy."

Rather than catch the NOPSI bus across the street from the school at the gas station, I'd walk down toward Manuel's (service was around the back, if I recall correctly). Grab a few tamales, walk to convenience store at corner of Canal and Carrollton, get a Barq's, and feast waiting for the Carrollton bus!

The Bell Beefer is what it was called. My friend Joey used to order this all the time and I thought it was weird.
