It's not a poboy when prepared that way. It's a shrimp sandwich. Come on. You know what a poboy is.

Mayo. Really, outside of a couple of dashes of hot sauce, that’s all I want on a fried shrimp po-boy

How do you settle this personal preference circumstance?

I’m not a big ketchup guy but plenty of shrimp po boys come with it and I think it goes well.

I also like mayo and remoulade so there is no one better than the other. I like cocktail sauce but can’t say I’ve ever had it on a shrimp po boy nor would I pick it.

Fried food needs acid. Give me some hot sauce.

So here is the problem

Remoulade is fancy mayo/ketchup, and with hot sauce (and other things). So if you pick that you pick 3 things.

This is a bullshite question because if you get a po boy dressed you get some of that as well.

The real question would be if you get a dressed fried shrimp po boy what is one thing you add.

Are dill pickle chips included as dressed?

I order a po-boy, of any kind, I ask that they serve it as it's listed on the menu. I trust they know way better than I do.

Shrimp poboy is my go to. I always order and ask for shrimp poboy “dressed, no pickles” (in the event that establishment happens to use pickles). All places I enjoy around my area use mayo.

It’s usually just fried shrimp, lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo.

I haven’t been to OldeTyme in Lafayette in probably 15-20 years. Vaguely remember they may have used ketchup and mayo IIRC. Their poboys were great either way, but I never see ketchup typically used.

I always get dressed all the way, but I have been known to dip a bite or 3 into some cocktail sauce or remoulade.

To each their own, I'm a sauce-a-holic. Everything needs sauce.
