Top of the Line Gas Grill

After years of consideration I have finally decided to pull the trigger and buy a high end gas grill. At first I was considering a Weber, but read some bad reviews. So now I have decided to spend a little more.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a high end grill for under $5,000? GE Monogram, Lynx, Napoleon, etc.?

I have used Weber charcoal grills for years and love them. But what I read about their gas grills was less than flattering. For example there were some lighter metals used and the Taiwanese motor they use on the rotisserie evidently presents a lot of problems.

I've read great things about the TEC grills. I've never had a high end gas grill, though, so take it FWIW.
The better weber gas grills are almost universally praised. Was it the lower end line you were researching?

Never dealt with a rotisserie motor, but overall, my weber has been awesome.
Weber is like the Toyota of gas grills (good performance for 15+ years). It might not have the BMW capabilities, but will last twice as long.

My Grandpa has a TEC, very high quality grill. Not as sexy as some of the big brands. They're made in USA / smaller operation. It gets really frickin hot really quick -- uses infrared burners. That's my end game gas grill.

Summit S-670. It is pretty much the top of the Weber line at around $2,500.

I have a 6 burner Blaze. Best bang for the buck in my opinion.

I've had a TEC grill for well over ten years. It's one of their earlier "Patio Series" It's. great, and I recommend the product.

I have a Lion 42" grill and am very happy with it. It's not Lynx, DCS or Viking but it also doesn't carry quite the price tag. I think I paid about $3000 for it.

I spent 8-12 months researching gas grills, I wanted the best and my budget was similar to yours. I went to many stores all over South La. including shoppers choice and goodwood hardware. I looked at the brands mentioned above, but still wasn't totally impressed.
One day I was in Richard Supply in Houma looking at an ice maker when I noticed a gas grill called Crown Verity. I had never heard of the company but after inspecting the grill, I was impressed. I hadn't seen anything like it. Their equipment is designed for professional catering, so it has to be bullet proof. For example the rotisserie is designed for up to 140 pounds.
I ordered from the manufacturer just over a year ago and they brought it to a New Orleans trade show. The rep said they could have sold it 20 times during the show. Everyone who comes over is impressed with it.

I just bought a used DCS two-burner grill w/rotisserie (30") at an auction, and the one thing I can tell you about it is the build quality is certainly legitimate. The thing weighs well over 200 pounds with the cart. Parts are very reasonable and easy to swap out.
This one is around 10 years old if I were guessing, and once I got all the gunk cleaned out of it the thing looks very good. I did some checking on the burners last night because I want to do some low and slow smoking with it and it looks dead simple to cook at the lower temps (you can dial it in starting at about 175 degrees) and with two burners putting out 25,000 BTUs each I don't think it will have a problem getting hot enough to sear the heck out of steaks.
I think in the $2,500 - $3k range the Summit and DCS would be fairly comparably priced, albeit the DCS is probably a smaller grill for the money. Obviously I didn't pay anything close to that amount, but I can attest to the quality of the DCS unit; it's sat on a porch in mid-Missouri for several winters and looks no worse for the wear.

Not a gas grill user but I think Blaze grills are made here in Louisiana. Pretty nice looking outdoor equipment. LINK

i just don't see spending thousands on a gas grill that gets dirty as crap, have to worry about cleaning taking care of etc. Buy a $800 weber and get a new one every 8-10 years.

Forget the gas. Go for real flavor in a BGE, Primo or Kamado Joe. For 1000-1500 you can have a lifetime grill that imparts way more flavor.

Even at the Weber store they advised me to get the Genesis over the summit just because the extra $$ wasn't worth it
