New season of Top Chef coming up! There are a few major changes this season.

The biggest change, obviously, is that Season 10 winner Kristen Kish will be replacing Padma as the host. I will miss Padma but I love Kristen so I'm looking forward to seeing how she makes the hosting gig her own.

Another big change is that immunity will no longer be the prize for winning the Quickfire. Instead, immunity will go to the winner of the Elimination challenge, and will carry over to the following week's Elimination. That is an interesting twist, in my opinion.

This lineup looks like it fell off a Disney reboot casting wishlist.

Saw the French guy while watching Top Chef France. He was extremely good. I imagine he does pretty well throughout the season.

I wish they would do a whole season of Restaurant Wars. You could make it easier by having a theme each week - this week, you're opening sandwich shops, next week it's breakfast places, etc. Early on, make it where there are three or four restaurants competing so you don't have massive teams. Don't deal with the decorating BS - it's all about cooking. Re-assign or re-select the teams each week. When you have an uneven number of contestants, give the winner of the quickfire challenge the week off or rotate in past contestants/local chefs to balance things out. For the finale, the three chefs put together a team made up of chefs from the current season and past seasons and open their dream restaurant.

Haven't seen it yet but I am guessing lots and lots of tattoos, lots of androgynous looking humans, and lots of DEI.

Can’t cook a good creative dish without looking like something out Ripley’s believe it or not. It’s amazing.

I wonder how it is in Euro Trash land. I feel like old school old age French chefs don’t geehaw with all this new trend stupid shite of looking as trashy as possible.

This is the only reality/competition show I still watch, and I always enjoy it.

Kristen should be a good host. I watched her "Restaurants at the End of the World" series, and she was pretty good. She's been even better as a guest judge in previous seasons of Top Chef.

I read that the Quickfire winner would not get immunity this season. I thought they were doing away with immunity altogether, but it looks like they just changed how you get it. I would be okay with no more immunity, but I guess they find some value in keeping it. It seems that the immune person all too often does a shite performance and would get the boot if not immune. Perhaps they like that kind of drama/conflict.

I love the new immunity rule and making quickfires cash prizes only

The production quality of Top Chef is in a league of its own, including this new season so far.

There's got to be a hundred other cooking competition shows and none are a close second.

Agreed. I was a little worried with a change in hosts (not that I'm such a huge fan of Padma, but I did like her), but once you see the kitchen and overall setup, you realize how it is heads and shoulders above every other cooking competition show.

Yes. I watched last week’s episode a day later on Peacock.

It should be.
They shop the day before. They choose their own ingredients. They have overnight to plan. They get a lot of time to cook. They are all professionals.
