Is it possible to have drank too many juicy IPAs ?

Got spoiled this Mardi Gras with all the really good ones that were available, GG, Crowd Control, Abrasive, and the Courtyard offerings, that now all I taste is juice. Had an Abrasive the other night and it was like strait up breakfast juice brah. I saw somebody use the word hot when describing this beer and I got no booze at all. No earthiness or bitter, just overly sweet citrus. It's getting kind of boring and I feel like I'm wasting a $5 beer. I'm not claiming to have a Maven's Porsche palate but I feel I need to bring my Mustang in for an alignment. Still crave hops so maybe I need to seek out some dirty piney resin IPAs. Or should I just run a 6 pack of Jackomo across my tongue ? Maybe tear it down with a heavy sours session ?

Sounds like too much of a good thing.

Maybe mix in some brown ales, chocolate porters or (gasp) lagers from time to time?

You say you are not a maven. Well I'm even less of one, but I almost never drink more than 2 of the same style when I go out. My 2 cents.

I never scored any of this in bottles so I never got to sit down and enjoy it. Unfortunately it was always mixed in the middle of a shitshow session.

Grab the yeti.
Fill it up with high life ponies.
Head to grand isle.
Drink all ponies before returning.

you can definitely have too much. I think i've said as much before. Once you drink so many, the "wow" of it wears off and it's just another solid IPA.

yep. i think most people aren't even enjoying the beers anymore...just drinking them to post them on the internet and show other people that they are drinking them.

Bring yourself back down to earth with some cold, refreshing Jockamos. Drink a few six packs of those, then head back into the juicy breach. It'll make you appreciate a good IPA all over again.

I've yet to experience this phenomenon, but it sure isn't from lack of trying.

Can you give some examples of some widely available IPAs that would be described as juicy for those of us less in the know?

I wouldn't describe that one as Juicy at all.

IF you want to change it up, grab you some endeavor or some Hop Stoopid from Lagunitas. Endeavor is more of the classic style of a hoppy IPA. Lagunitas is more of a grassy/piney IPA. Both are delicious.

FWIW, i still love the "juicy" ipa's. Sweetwater Hop Hash is one of my locally available favs.
