Love Olive. Only ever have good things to say. Like others said, Friday night is going to be loud and it is common during peak hours to be unable to find an open seat. Keep that in mind.

There’s been a couple times I walk over to Rum House to wait out the crowd.

Forgot about the Rum House. That may be a back up. Thanks.

One time I went there and it was like all dudes and a bunch of them kissed each other. That may be what you and your "so" want

Me too, but mostly because Kim won't let me pay for drinks.

Don’t understand the love. Have been a few times. One time good. One time meh. One time the female? bartender came out from behind the bar to lecture me on craft cocktails and that I didn’t really understand what was good and what was bad.

Now, I’m not a professional drinker anymore, but still play AAA and get called up a lot to talk to the youngsters from time to time. I took offense to her? line of questioning and explained that I understood what she was saying and know what I (the customer) wanted and that wasn’t it. She kept arguing and then I stumped her when I asked if they had any scotch. Yes she said. I said organic? She said NO!!!! I will have that with some non organic ice. Off with you. She was steamed.

Only time ever that I have been confronted about a drink. Very unsettling.

You ordered a drink and she served you something different and then argued with you because you said it wasnt what you wanted?

Probably ordered a drink and he didn't like the way it tasted and tried telling her it should be something else

I ordered a specific drink and because it was not prepared properly, I was subjected to a lecture from a mixologist? It is not that I didn’t like it. It was not what was ordered or expected. They should have said we can’t make that at the time of order.

Was with friends who agree that I was not unreasonable. In fact they were taken a back by the encounter.

I was impressed when I went for lunch. Not your standard bar food. Never been after work hours.

I love Olive or Twist when it's not jam packed. I hate it when it is, but I hate anything that's jam packed

Not sure this really matters. My point is that I was confronted by an employee who wanted to argue with me about how the drink was prepared and why it was like it was. It is a horrible error by the employee and deserves scrutiny. It breaks the first rule of customer service in the F&B industry. The customer is right. I didn’t approach her. She came out from behind the bar to confront me. Wrong move. Period. I was not obnoxious or out of sorts.

I'm going to say I don't believe most if any of that tale, chap. I don't live in BR and have no loyalty to the place, but that sounds like bullshite.

Lmao. So someone asks what you ordered and you intentionally make a new post not answering.

Just FYI - there’s countless drinks I’ve had at one bar prepared one way, and prepared differently elsewhere. It’s not a big deal and I know the young woman you’re being rude about well enough to know she’d re-make just about anything for an unsatisfied yet respectful customer.

Just curious how they could make a drink so wrong that there would be a confrontation about it.

Thats why I wondering what the drink was. Theyre pretty good about drinks there

Imo, in a successful bar like Olive or Twist or Bulldog or wherever, the customer isnt always right. More times than not, the customer is wrong and drunk

How am I being rude? I asked them to remake it and she came around the bar. I didn't confront her. She confronted me. It was a cordial discussion, but after a couple of minutes of disbelief I finally asked for the replacement drink and received it. Left an adequate tip and have been back a couple of more times. If you know her, tell her to listen and not talk. It is amazing what you will discover.

That is the whole story. Not sure what you expect.

Ok. why don't we say it is a Manhattan, Gimlet, Flaming Milk Punch, etc. It doesn't matter. I ordered, it wasn't right and I politely asked for something different. Was not drunk or rude. And it is an error by the employee to confront the customer. If she would have come out and asked about what I wanted, it would have been different. Once again listen. They are good drinks, when made properly.
