Lot of hate on some milkshakes. Been to the one in Fairhope and it’s a nice spot. But that location gets tons of foot traffic from tourist, this one will not.

This thread has strangely triggered people who act like they will be forced to each giant shake/sundae hybrids

At the time of is investment the best store id assume the one in Gulf Shore was producing margins of 25-28% on $1.4K in sales.

my little business does similar margins on much higher sales

I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess not a lot of baboon lagoon visitors will patronize the malt shop. They aren’t exactly the Instagram types.

Generally speaking.

I got nauseated and my head hurts just looking at all of that going on. Way too much!
I'm bailing out of the thread as my pancreas is starting to hurt again just looking at the images. (pancreas is what makes insulin and counter-point, glucagon, btw.)

My oldest doesn't like whipped cream for whatever reason. I feel like they'd all look less grandiose without whipped cream.

Valid point. I can honestly say that my kids have never been. I think it is because we know the crowd, but I suspect BB is able to attract some unsuspecting out of towners for the day who have a disposable income.

It is pretty funny. You can tell these are topped with pre-made things like Chips Ahoy and Cookie Crisp cereal, plus a bunch of whipped cream, and they're getting $15 for it.

I guess I gotta hand it to them.. they're making $$$ off Instagram girls and kids who won't accept a regular scoop.

They also use Hershey brand ice cream. Nothing they do is really ground breaking aside from the presentation.

We went to the one in Alabama and kicked around the idea of starting something similar in Baton Rouge but IMO the fact they cater to vacation crowds is what keeps them viable.
