Snapper en pappillote (fish baked in parchment paper) at Louisiana Lagninappe

+1, although it is much better with snapper than with black drum, IMO.

Biscuits from Frank's - local, unique, and has stood the test of time
Papillote and Crawfish Cakes from La. Lagniappe
Fried Shrimp and Fried Catfish Poboys - not sure who has the best but someone's should be on the list
Jambalaya Shoppe Jambalaya - sure lots of home cooks do it better but I can't think of any restaurants that do it better.
Cajun Pot Roast from Bistro Byronz

Wow. A lot of dishes named that I considered and didn't make the cut. I hope I don't get flamed too bad for this list!

Not a "Dish" per se, but the Bread Pudding with Coconut Sauce from Brunet's is an item I will go out of my way for.

Muff from Anthony's

I saw the Aroncini from Gino's mentioned, gotta throw in the Lawrence Bread too...........

I will also 2nd the Snapper en Pappiolte (sp) from Lagnaippe.

So is the list full of dishes that you didn't think of or dishes that you disagree with being on the list?

To be honest some are dishes I haven't had that I look forward to trying and some are dishes I had and thought were good, but didn't leave an impression in my mind that had me wanting them again.

We want to do something different with our site other than boring reviews. We will have reviews but we want to focus on other foods and events going on in and around the city.

Also, the creator of the sites brother is a private chef who just launched a cookbook. We hope to get permission to post his recipes as well. He takes fresh Louisiana ingredients and puts a nice twist on them. I'm looking forward to launching it
