Thanks for the recommendations! Yes, we will be avoiding the quarter. We figured out about southern decadence before we left BR but said frick it anyway.

LSU game in NOLA then late dinner

Posted by MissLouTigah on 8/30/25 at 4:44 pm
The wife and I are in NOLA this weekend and looking for a good place to catch the LSU game and then late dinner afterwards.

We always have our favorites coming down here like steak at Mr John’s or Dickie Brennan’s or Italian at Irene’s or Domenica. This time, we are looking for something different no matter the cuisine. Just a new experience because it’s been awhile since we’ve been down here. Any ideas would be appreciated?

P.S. - I know Google is my friend and believe me I’ve been looking, but the FDB has never steered me wrong!

I also collect pocket knives and currently have about 40. I’ve got budget priced knives and premium production knives. Today I’m carrying a Hinderer XM18 3.5.
This could all be a setup, but if I’m the owner and I didn’t say that, I’m sure as hell gonna make sure those people knew my side of it. It is kinda crazy he just passively denied whole the other guy went on and on.
I grew up in Centreville and have seen it go from a small gas station selling only breakfast out of a small window to where it is now.

The food has always been great, but something you wouldn’t want to eat on a daily basis. The deer sausage is the star of the show to me. I agree that there meats used higher quality and much more fresh. However, it’s what Centreville has and it’s makes a killing especially during deer season. Also; the Vine family are good, hard working people.

All in all a great place and I’m surprised at how many people I meet that know of Centreville because of Vine’s. Kinda like how people know Woodville because of Illusions.
He’s maybe a fatass, but he’s a funny fatass.
Beautiful rust colored Doberman! Always wanted one exactly that color. Currently have a German Shepherd and had a Ridgeback that just passed. She was the best dog we ever had bar none.

The Big Hurt - Frank Thomas

Equity is one of the words I hate most.

This is base of all the latest progressive movements. It’s gone from equality to equity. From equal to wanting more than your fellow man. I not only hate it but it scares me to think people are actually buying into this bullshite.

We need some clarification on "guilty pleasure" songs. Some of you are posting great songs. Would you really be embarrassed by listening to Bittersweet Symphony?

You’ve got a point. Just feels like it because it’s such a departure from what I generally listen to.
I’ll second Cranberries - Linger. Along Len - Man Of the year and The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony.

fricking this!

I dislike the dementia addled Brandon we have for a president and the general socialist takeover of American life, but I and my family were actually able to have a great day without blaming some libtard for all our problems. Y’all’s obsession with Trump is longer amusing as much as it is sad. I can’t understand how some people can be so weak minded.
Well, if it comes from Yahoo News you know it’s gotta be right. Such a bastion of journalism. Anybody who has a yahoo email address knows there’s been almost daily stories just like this since the Trump admin began.
It definitely looks great! Might be a little dry, but I bet the taste is there. We receive a lot of wild hog meat, but my only experience has been having it ground and using it in sausages and meatloaf. These days, if I’m cooking a loin, I try not to let it go past 145 degrees. That usually keeps it pretty moist even for extremely lean meat. However, I don’t know how the temp applies to wild game.
In my head I thought well maybe we can get past this and just take football for what it’s worth this season. However, I’d like to know how many times the announcers will willingly or otherwise have to talk about Drew’s stance and this Twitter bullshite in every fricking game he plays. That’s when I’m out. There gonna use every opportunity to throw this in face of every white male who doesn’t conform.
Oh my, he has his own opinions! How dare he! At this point, I wouldn’t care if he came out and said frick everybody who takes issues with HIS OPINION! He is exercising his right to free speech just as people are currently exercising their right to protest (not fricking riot). How bout you not marginalize free speech
You mean the same constitution that also gives us free fricking speech? He has his own goddamned opinion on the subject and God bless him for not bowing under the pressure to change it. frick you if you don’t fricking like it. This is America.
No matter what you think of his stance on the subject, it’s goddamned refreshing to hear someone stand up for their beliefs even though it may fly in the face of trending opinion and fricking disgusting hashtag and cancel culture. Everyone needs to remember free speech is only accepted in this country if you are in lockstep with the progressive opinions and movements.
