Anyone ever been? How is the food for the price? How is the atmosphere and any particular can't miss menu items?
Thinking of going to try it this weekend but would like to hear some personal opinions. Thx

the shed is horrendous and supremely hyped up. if you are used to the joint or Chef Rob's then you will be absurdly disappointed. the shed is over priced and stupidly hot in the summer. i can not stress enough how terrible it is with all the hype.

It's not as bad as people are about to make it out to be. It's an average bbq place, at best. It's undeserving of the hype but it's not terrible food. The bbq sauce will turn you into Wilford Brimley tho.

Barley edible BBQ, high prices. Not worth going.

If you go with a bunch of friends, are shitfaced before hand and don't expect too much it can be a good time.
But this Board will tell you it is one of the nine circles of hell.

It's OK. The people who run it are great at getting publicity for their restaurant. Like if they were as good at cooking barbecue as they were getting on TV, it would be a world-class joint.

Keep in mind the vast majority of this board is made up of hipsters who wear skinny jeans, ride fixies, hate anything song that makes it on the radio, and any restaurant that gets put on television.
With that being said, The Shed is far from the best BBQ, but it's not bad by any means. Worth the stop.

I've never been to the restaurant but I sometimes buy their mustard BBQ sauce at the store for using at the house. Mainly I use it for a dipping sauce for sausage. It is pretty awesome.

Only went once and was disappointed.
The BBQ itself is average, but the sides were all subpar.
I guess if you've never been you could check it out, but I'd be hard pressed to go back.

I'm 46. No one wants to see my arse in skinny jeans, I don't rid a fixie, I've outgrown my music snob days and I have nothing against a good restaurant being on TV.
(Aaron Franklin of Franklin Barbecue did an ad for a Chase credit card for God's sake. I waited for hours to eat at his restaurant and would do it again tomorrow.)
I lived on the Coast for years and we still stop in on vacation. There are a ton of better places to eat, like Government Street Grocery in Ocean Springs or Adventures in downtown Biloxi.

Whatever makes you happy.
This is a food and drink board spun off from a football site that is mostly people posting from redneck land. I bet less than 5% of the posters here fit that description.
You would think this is the Austin vegetarian foodie facebook group the way some of you act about this issue.

not sure how saying a place has bad food is being a hipster. the food at the shed is subpar if you are used to food in new orleans. simple as that. if you are used to garbage bbq then yea it should be good
--the OP lives in metairie or so it said. so thats why i wouldn't recommend it.

I thought it was a cool place with good not great bbq.
pricing was fair...
I've only had terrible bbq once in my life and that was at tin roof in houston.
Go and have a good time... hangout listen to music. Going to be great weather this weekend.
