My brother started this a few weeks ago and turned me on to it. You’re supposed to eliminate carbs and consume a lot of fats. 75% or your diet should be fats. I started last week and have found it difficult to reach that 75% threshold. Anyone else doing this diet? Any tips? Will I die?

You aren’t supposed to eliminate carbs. You’re supposed to severely limit your carbs. It’s the way every diabetic should eat.

You don't need to have eat the 75%. Eat your carb and protein macros and eat more fat if you're hungry all the time. Fat is mostly for satiety.

For a non diabetic, the best diet is the diet you can sustain long term

Figure out your TDEE(calories you burn per day), hit your protein and fill in the rest of the calories however you may. At the end of the day its about being in a calorie deficit if your goal is to lose weight.

I'm doing low carb and am in ketosis, but have plateaued at -17 pounds. How does one get 75% of calories from fat? At some point, despite being in ketosis calories have to be reduced otherwise the stored fat you burn simply gets replaced with more fat and fat is calorie dense. Cutting back would lead to lack of satiety, no?

Post this on the health and nutrition board. If you’re set on keto, they have a whole Keto thread on there

It works. I dropped over 10% of my body weight in about a month and a half, and all my numbers (cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure, etc.) fell into tolerable numbers.

If I'd been exercising, I probably would have ended up healthy. But life happened, and l started drinking beer again.

More avocado. More "oil" dressings like chimichurri. Butter. Use them and focus less on your proteins. Eat a lot of leafy greens.

If you are going hard on Keto, I would watch out how hard you are working out. I almost fainted at the gym somewhat recently on deadlifting day when I had been depriving my body a bit too much. A lot of experts say you have to hit that point a couple times to realize where your body fits on the spectrum

Second this. You flush your electrolytes, particularly early on, out very quickly. It's recommended to up your potassium, magnesium and sodium intake on the diet.

Might sound counterintuitive about the sodium, since everyone tells you it's so bad for you, but you aren't eating all the processed foods anymore where most people get the majority of their sodium.

I've been playing golf fine all summer even though it's hot as frick, started back on keto and almost passed out on the course the other day.

Yea for me it wasn't even a big switch. However, I moved from reasonable levels of carbs (couple of potatoes a week/some parsnips) to none, and that just isn't good when you're doing PRs on deadlifts and you're on your 2nd week.

I decided it's not right for me as I don't want to drop much weight and can do it slower and in a more controlled manner.

Everyone works differently

Wife got us to do weight watchers. No meetings we just use the app to track etc. I've lost over 20lbs and it has been pretty easy.

I don't know why you're getting down voted because you are objectively right.
