I don’t think Masero is good at all for the price. It’s like any other Americanized mexican food but more expensive

You have any suggestions or do you just criticize everyone else's ideas?

I already did that. Enjoy your overpriced Tex mex though. I’m not stopping you

No you didn't. He asked for Mexican suggestions. Why are you unwilling to share your obviously superior knowledge with us?

Second the already mentioned Hutchins BBQ close to a hole in the wall (a big hole in the wall) but good food and La Hacienda Ranch.

For family style comfort food, I’d add Babe’s Chicken Dinner House. Babes has some old farm equipment on display and the Frisco Heritage Museum nearby.

If you want some live music, The Revel is close to Hutchins BBQ. I've heard Mudbugs Bar and Grill has moved into the same location so you can get a variety of food there.

Legacy West in Plano is close to the ballpark as is the Dallas Cowboys practice facility on Cowboys Way. Both have garage parking and you can walk around to check out bars and restaurants.

I hope the Tigers bring some warm weather, hot bats and blazing pitching.

Mi Cocina has better drinks, but as others have said it a chain and not that great.

I would suggest Mi Dia From Scratch as an option if you are looking for mexican/tex-mex.

I would go to Hacienda even though its just fine and while a chain, its a a small local chain. Mesero in Legacy west is probably the best mexican up there.

Mi Dia From Scratch is my personal favorite
Mesero is better than La Hacienda imo by a pretty good margin.

Hard 8 and Hutchins are fine. I prefer Tenders. They have the best of the brisket breakfast tacos around here.

Highest recommendation for The Rice Bar in The Colony for a good meal. Hole in the wallish. Right across from The Grandscape. Korean food - I get the spicy chicken bowl and don't forget to ask for the green sauce when ordering. Unfortunately they don't open until 3pm.

To the OP …

And while in Dallas, since you are going to be close, go to Mia’s. Best brisket tacos around!

You'll be next to a million restaurants with Grandscape and Legacy West and the Star

Mi Dia is awesome, and I like Mexican Sugar better than Masero. Also, Whiskey Cake and Sixty Vines are nice places

In Legacy, they have a place called Haywire that's an upscale/nice Texas themed restaurant with great smoked Old Fashions and a wide menu. Nice patio too. Chicks love it.

Hard 8 is good but Hutchin's BBQ is considerably better. Get the beef ribs and brisket.

Agreed. Hard 8 is fine, but Hutchins id better. Plus Hutchins has a free desert bar.

For Chinese I like Wu Wei Din. Locations in Plano and Lewisville. Not a fancy place but good.

There is a very high end Japenese place in Grandscape in the Colony, but you probably need reservations. I’ve never been but I think it is pricey.

Most of the high end steakhouses have locations in the Northern suburbs now.

As far as Tex Mex goes, I’ve been to several of the chains mentioned in this thread. I think they are all good but similar.

Some people love Portrillos for the beef sandwich. I haven’t actually tried that dish there.

Then we have most of the counter service type chains you might like to try if you live somewhere without as many places.

If you want a nice steak place, Dee Lincoln is good.

Girls from Dallas love MiCo for whatever reason. I think it's really boring.

It’s a Frisco Wine Mom favorite. Very overrated. Just a strong margarita.
