The Asian community is single-handedly holding Baton Rouge’s food scene together.

I frequently go to mostly Asian owned restaurants around town and they always slap. It’s always quality.
to name a few
Sushi Yama amazing.
Boru Ramen fun stuff
All the new Thai spots are great (RIP Thai kitchen I don’t know what the frick happened there)
Umami I did prefer umami with the old owners, but still slaps.
Not to mention, the new BBQ joint offset smoker great stuff really turning it around for our town.
The list goes on..

There's even an Asian owned taco restaurant now.
What happened to Thai Kitchen? It's usually good food.

I don’t think BR qualifies as a place I would consider an Asian food destination. Of the options we do have across the various Asian cuisines, we do have some pretty damn solid spots.
But,
I really am curious if you believe this.

From the information I gathered when they moved locations I think the ownership changed. I don’t know. I know Phil‘s oyster bar took their old location. I love Phil’s old school atmosphere. Protect Phil’s at all cost

The only Thai Kitchen I know is off College Drive and has been there for a few years.

It used to be in Southdowns shopping center.

What's the name of this place?
The Patio. It's in the old Velvet Cactus location. I think it's owned by Michael Tran who also owns Umani.

Just 30 mins away is Lee's Asian Fusion. I have seen buses of Asian folks from New Orleans come there from New Orleans due to its 'authenticity.'
