Most consumers especially non business owners have no clue as to the actual cost of a product. Make a payroll every Friday and you don't complain as much about the cost of a soft drink.

Most people do not understand that profit is not equal to sales price minus cost of product

I am in the professional services industry and while only what I do is billable and people sometimes frown on what it costs, what I bill for has to pay for my staff, building, equipment, parking lot, utilities, insurance, taxes,.....etc

Jesus.. WTF is this board so goddamn judgemental. If someone wants to drink themselves into a grave let them. $3 is very high for a softdrink. What does that have to do with people getting refills. If someone else wants to be fat who fricking cares?

Wait, so you're saying consumers should have to pay for all that stuff? The 30% labor costs, the million dollar loan for PP&E, the >$1,000 of monthly bills to turn the cable/lights/gas on? What? That's crazy talk. Coke only cost a quarter. That's what we should have to pay.

$3 is on the high side though, but restaurants have seen that people wanting to drink sugar water are willing to spend up to $3 for a soft drink at a restaurant.

I sell you a coke for $2. I hear you say "I would've paid $3". Guess what happens next time.

I had seen $2.95 at some places
Does not compare with the $6.95 small at the movie theaters. Not to mention the $7.95 small popcorn.

Gotta take a loan at the bank just to see a frickn movie.

Oh, and did I mention that Capital One Bank really, really, really, really, really, really sucks? Didnt think so.

It costs a lot more than 5 cents but yes they do make a profit off of drinks but it's a business. I would guestimate it costs about $.50-$1.00 for the average person's drink assuming 2-3 refills.

this is correct

Watching folks get worked up because some anonymous internet poster says they might not approve of what they do can be fun, though.

More like the same cast of characters attempting to start e-fights with the same tired jabs and taunts. Gets old.
