5) Iris - The most romantic restaurant in the Quarter, IMO.

So...did you ask yourself a very obvious question?

I would put Jamila's on the list as far as the places that I've been.

Agreed.

Write it for Irene's if it has not been mentioned.

As for the hate for Impastato's, did you know in the last twenty years, Impastato's has hosted more marriage proposals than any other Metro restaurant?

Link? That isn't from their website.

It is way dated and not even close to what I would call romantic.

That would be one of the best for me, personally.

Impastato's is dated, but Galatoire's isn't?

Early 1980's is vintage now, not dated. And the food quality is much better than Galatoire's, and it isn't ridiculously loud.

God, that place sucks.

I thought the food was good, but the layout is a cluster fck. I was seated with my wife at a two top right next to the entrance to the kitchen. Between wait staff brushing right by me all night and me and the guy seated next to me damn near bumping elbows, I was miserable. Very bright and loud too.

I've been to Rue 127 twice and both times were exceptionally great.

You're not selling clothes at a hipster store. Try to relax, please.

Not trying to really slam you in any way.

Thanks for making these list. As quirky as the list can be in some aspects, I think it adds to the board and def. gives us all something to debate.

9) Impastato's - It's dim lighting, stained glass, and seclusion lend to its canticle: l'amore e nell'aria.

I'm going there tonight actually

Not on a date though

Rue 127 is a great restaurant.

A Booth in the foundation room restaurant would be in my top 10. As would one of the nooks at upperline.

I know you're not around these parts much anymore, so that's why I'm putting this out there for you:

I have got to mention the most romantic restaurant in NOLA in my opinion. The Italian Barrel. Mrs. Debaser and I went there in late January and loved the ambiance of this tiny restaurant and the utter enthusiasm of our waiter. The lighting, the fantastic wine selection. I loved this dining experience.

Impastato's

I had one of my best ever first date's there so it's some what Romantic for me as well. Irene's is , dark, good food and very intimate feel.

There are almost 1300 restaurants in the area, its so hard to make a top ten of anything. So I always give credit to TulaneLSU for his lists. I think they are interesting, and in everyone a discussion on the topic builds up within the thread. If you go back and look at the top tens, the list plus the commentary helps you to find excellent dining options.

I get that some people question the amount of places the OP has tried. Maybe he has a lot of disposable income from the all of his capital gains from Apple Stock?

Anyway, why I don't agree with much of the list, I do see where the listing is helpful and serves a purpose. Keep it up.
