You been to either of Ralph Brennan's two rather recently added Metarie places?

I ate at Cafe B(his place on Metairie Rd) and found it to be pretty good.

Chateau Du Lac is my #1 restaurant in Metry night now. Best service staff for sure. It can be expensive no doubt, but I have enjoyed sharing the cheese tray with my wife and then getting a soup and that open faced steak sanchwhich for myselft on the last two visits and it really hasn't been too bad for such a great meal.

Casa Garcia is overrated.

Agreed. R&O's should be higher on that list.

Kanno blows Shogun out of the water but I do think it is a good list overall. I think Austin's is hit or miss but should be on there around 9 or 10.

Kanno's is good, but better than Shogun? Not no, but skip to my lou no! Sure, if all you want is crunchy rolls, California rolls, and a trip to the wild side of a piece of tuna sashimi Kanno is fine. But if you want to explore the finer aspects of sushi, Shogun is far superior. I don't even know if Kanno has the good stuff in its fridge in the back.

Equator is good but the lunch portions are way too small.

Sorry, but Drago's needs to be on the list just for the grilled oysters.

I wouldn't know because I don't order that type of stuff but Kanno is a specialized sushi restaurant with a true Japanese chef (the only chef there). The marinated albacore tuna app, lobster roll, elvis roll, and godzilla roll are all awesome.

Isn't this list your opinion? Are people not allowed to disagree? IMO Kanno is far superior to Shogun.

From the OP:

But Kanno better than Shogun? If I'd made such a claim, I would have been laughed off the board as a troll.

Glass, let's see your top ten.

BTW, I think Drago's is good, but really overrated and not worth the prices they charge.

I know it to be the best Japanese restaurant in the state without exception. Go sit at the sushi bar, and tell Yoshi that you are a long time sushi eater. Then tell him to impress you.

I agree 100% with this assessment.

I don't really eat in Metairie enough to have a valid top ten. My favorites are Ruth's, Impastato's and Sandro's.

Horinoya for sure, at least in the NOLA area.
I am not up to date on my vaccinations, so I have no idea what are the top, bottom, or middle 10 restaurants in Metairie.
