Apparently I have to meet some people here for lunch. I went one time years ago when it was a bad Mexican joint. What's the poop on this joint?
Food? It's lunch so I can easily find something small and tidy I'm guessing.
Who owns this? Seems it was a local deal if I remember discussions on here a couple years ago. Just wondering what I'm up for.

It's basically a Chili's. Bland food. It is not local, at least it doesn't feel like it. It looks and feels like a chain restaurant.

Been twice, I was not impressed, but surely you can find a grilled chicken sandwich or something for a decent lunch
The owners? From what I understand it is a small group of investors that bought the small chain out of bankruptcy several years ago and have done well with it, Seems I remember hearing it is about 50 locations nationwide, but that may not be accurate. A very young guy from BR is one of, if not the main investor, he also owns a few movie theaters, and lots of investment property

I don't think Santa Fe was ever a Mexican restaurant.

I was waiting on some stuff with my car next door at the Ford Dealership last week. I was hungry so I walked over there for lunch and ordered a burger. The burger was pretty good but the fries tasted like they had been fried in two week old oil.

I can not remember it being one either, the guy that owned pasta garden had it for years under different names and concepts, but never made it work

I've eaten at the one in Rome. Georgia that is. I'm not the jet set, I'm the old Chevro let set. Get a burger or a salad and cut your losses.

I'm guessing this isn't affiliated with the New Orleans, Santa Fe?
It's not good either. FYI.

I believe it was in the strip behind it. I remember going to this as a somewhat high end Italian now. I remember our waiter asked if we wanted cheese on the pasta and whipped out his battery operated grater. I also remember I paid a bunch of money for Chef Boy R Dee on fine china and an extremely bad chianti.
I thought Santa Fe had some local ownership from reading here. I'm sure I can find something. This is the same group that when we meet in the morning it's Waffle House. I don't complain, they write nice checks.

It is a locally owned chain, have never been. Hear good reviews from people who aren't so pretentious about their food.

Santa Fe is a Logan's type steak house, why all the Mexican talk?
Never mind just actually read the thread

guy named Shane Morrison owns it along with some other investors including james davison and maybe the guy that found club car.
food is garbage, the cinammon butter is good on the rolls though.

Those names seem familiar which is why I asked. Seem to be making a go of it.

Mi Padres is back behind it.
Don't order steak at this "steakhouse." They seem to be physically incapable of cooking steak to anything other than medium well.

this is the only thing worth the eat. Not real sure how this place is still in business.
