Sure did! You don't have to sign up to give it an upvote either. I upvoted Nik's review and the new post with the TD site.

The owner sounds like a real see you next Tuesday. He should compete against Rob at NOLA Smokehouse for "Shittiest restaurant owner in New Orleans".

What's really sad is that my review was a detailed, honest review that echoed the sentiments of several other reviews, making it clear that I wasn't out to just out to get him.

He really is giving Amy a run for her money.

Well, Yelp is pretty awful.

I think the problem is restaurant owners get very mad when people dine at their restaurant and dont point out issues. And I know very few people actually complain in person. But I am willing to bet most of us would rather be scolded in private than in public.

Couple that with the fact that New Orleans has no one reviewing restaurants right now, which for decades has been an important part of our food scene, and I can see how restaurant owners could view Yelp as a serious detriment.

Was Amy's review positive or negative. I don't quite understand why he's complaining about it missing if it was negative.

I don't disagree with anything you said but there's better ways of handling it, don't you think?

Agreed. Even worse when they call the owner and offer to remove bad reviews if you'll pay them some money. It's a freaking blackmail racket.

Isnt there always a better way of handling it?

I think I have told this story before, but back in the MVB days, someone gave us a weird review on Yelp. I made the mistake of trying to contact the person to thank them for their review and address some of the points. Which then became an opportunity for her to amend the review, call me an a-hole (guilty), and discuss how she was in med school and had a better understanding of microbiology then some idiot at a hamburger stand.

After that, stopped reading Yelp

It is pretty much social media 101 that you don't respond to negative reviews unless you are VERY internet-etiquette savvy and aware of how to do it in a professional manner.

I know that Yelp isn't perfect. But the guy has 4 stars. His restaurant isn't in the shitter or something just because he has a few negative reviews.

This is a problem for the owner and any potential business partners not customers, right?

Obviously, if this guy acted like that in his restaurant no one would eat there.
