We’ve been wanting to try both for years but always went somewhere else. We had dinner last night at station 6 before a show at UNO and then 1000 figs today for lunch. Cliffs, both excellent and delicious

At station 6 we had a chopped tuna appetizer, a shrimp remoulade salad and a fish dish. Top notch food and the entree (sheepshead, crabmeat, potatoes, mushrooms, asparagus) was world class. One of the best put together dishes I can recently remember. It was a special if they have it, get that. We got there early and walked right in at 6pm but after that it was SRO until we left so keep that in mind

After a trip to Harold’s nursery we went to 1000 figs. Got the falafel with all the dips, salads, chicken, etc. ridiculously good. Better than Tavi in my opinion. Highly recommend

nice day/half in the city.

Their falafel will ruin you for any others in town.

Need to check them out. Still haven't tried it. Went to go a while back but tried the sandwich place across the street that used to be a grocery store

had the same thought. Everything we had was really fantastic and a change of pace from the typical fried seafood joint. I can see why they are so busy all the time. If I lived close by it would be hard to eat anywhere else but there or R&Os

I didn’t realize it was the Vega’s who own it. Vega Tapas was a long time favorite

It has changed hands a few times but hasn’t missed a beat. A few years ago they had a limited series of featuring dishes from a new Caribbean island every week. And I don’t mean Jamaica, but native seafood dishes from obscure places like San whatever. It was amazing.

The ordering food at 1000 figs but telling them you’re next door at Swirl, and eating there while drinking wine is a great life hack. I do it often.

The Due Market/Terranova sandwiches and gelato across the street are very good but also a little on the pricey side.

I like Station 6 but rarely go there. If I can’t make a resy and have to wait I usually don’t think about the place

Will 1000 figs bring it to you after ordering if you're sitting at swirls?

yes. You let them know you are at swirl, they give you a number and your plates etc and you go sit down at swirl and they bring it to you, and pick up your plates later.

It cannot be within an hour of swirl's closing

Had no idea. I went to Swirl when it first opened but will be back because of that cool "hack." Thanks!

Just a note:

Swirl does require that you purchase something from them in order to do it.

It doesn't get mentioned, but the Crab on Crab entree is one of the best dishes in the City.
