Friend is there for a conference this week. Casual to business casual type restaurant suggestions would be appreciated. Any type of food. Not worried about cost, though not looking to break the bank on every meal. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Walking distance is great, but Uber will work fine. Thanks!!!

I would add Antico for pizza, Mary Mac's for southern food, Papi's for Cuban food, Taco Mac for hundreds of beers, Sublime for donuts that consistently rank among the best in the country.

no

(it's a decent restaurant, but I wouldn't recommend to someone who is only in town for a few days)

Antico and Papi's recommendations are on point.

Antico pizza is good for lunch. If cost isnt an issue I am going to Chops or Bones for dinner. Breakfast, we just went to this place called Home Grown on Saturday and it was awesome! Its out toward the zoo though...not too far.

JCT in West Midtown, easy uber ride. Taqueria Del Sol isn't my thing but it's one of the most popular places in Atlanta. Cooks and Soldiers, Miller Union and Optimist are in that general area and some of the most celebrated restaurants in the city. Marcel is a very high end steakhouse on that side of town with great late night food. Bocado is over there and allegedly has one of Atlanta's best burgers. Public School 404 is a place my friends rave about but I haven't tried.

Fox Bros. and DAS BBQ are both fairly easy uber rides if BBQ is needed.

The Lawrence is good. We just tried The Consulate, which is a 60s/70s nostalgia/international/spy novel throwback restaurant, and it's very cool. Great buildout. It has a permanent and rotating tapas menu, the rotating is Colombian food, the permanent is a mix. The owner is a James Bond nut, and it's fun without being the least bit cheesy. Both of those are in the heart of Midtown.

Ecco,

Cypress Pint and Plate is decent for beers.

Good ones. Ecco is probably among the most consistent restaurants in Atlanta.

I like Cypress for casual food too but like a lot of these spots they can be tough to get into during busy times.

Vortex or Holeman & Finch for burgers, for sure. Kuroshio for sushi.

Another vote for Vortex for burgers. Their fried pickles are damn good as well.

Dude, I can't speak for the Midtown location, but Kuroshio in Kennesaw is outstanding. They have a roll with bacon in it.

I would also add that it's worth it to take the Uber to Hankook to get the original product in the original location. It's cheaper and the owner is almost always there.

Lacks credibility after that post.

Kuroshio and Vortex are both solid.

You should head over to either Ponce City Market or Krog Street Market. Both have "food courts" with a bunch of really good restaurant options. Krog has a pizza place that is on par with Antico but a better sit-down type atmosphere and full bar.
