I’m not super familiar with the New Orleans dining scene. Is there anything good within walking distance of the World War II Museum?

Also, going on a Sunday so that’s another consideration.

TIA

One of the highest concentration of restaurants in the city that isn't the French Quarter.

Throw a rock and hit a decent or great restaurant.

Emeril's (ultra high end, I doubt this is what you're looking for)
Emeril's Wine Bar
Peche (yes!)
Cochon
Herbsaint
Cochon Butcher (lunch/sandwiches)
Compere Lapin
Forbidden Pizza
Saint James Cheese Co (Lunch/ Sandwiches)
Bearcat CBD (brunch/breakfast)
Le Moyne (higher end)
Saint John

Goes without saying, but do NOT bother with the Drago's downtown. Absolutely horrible service and food a few weeks ago. The damn rice was uncooked and crunchy. (disclaimer - I did not pick the restaurant)

I really don't understand why people would go to shithole tourist traps like Drago's Downtown or Mother's when there are so many good choices in this area.

Cochon Butcher for lunch. Can head over there for a break and then back to the museum because you’ll be in the museum all day long.

Yeah, downtown Dragos is pathetic. Definitely a tourist spot. Locals know not to go.

Honestly Metairie isn’t much better. The service is fine but the food is mediocre and overpriced. (I do love their chargrilled oysters if someone else is paying)

Agreed. I have a very low opinion of Drago's in general. I think it sucks. But the Downtown one is even worse

Good to know. It’s been a few years since I’ve been and I’ve always enjoyed it. I’ve seen mixed reviews lately. It’s a shame. And, yes re their chargrilled oysters. I always thought Dragos was the best.

Drago's Metairie does have great charbroiled

Everything else there (besides Lobster too I guess) sucks balls and always has

Peche is always a great choice. I really enjoyed Saint John too.

This is a great list. I'll add St. Pizza and Beggars Banquet on the other side of the interstate but an easy walk.

Don't go to Peche or Butcher. They're always too crowded and I have a hard time getting a table.

Downtown Drago’s is a tourist trap for out of state know-nothings.

Metairie Drago’s is a tourist trap for in-state know-nothings.

They both suck.

That said: those oysters are pretty good.
