All I like is jack Daniels with coke. What’s the ratio with these.

Depends on how big of drunk you are

50:50 goes down smooth but usually ends up bad for me because they'll start going down like water... except it's 20% alcohol water.

i'll kill some mojitos, margaritas, mint julip, old fashion, sazerac, and a tom collins ain't bad

Typically on a Jack & coke its probably 2/3 to 1/3 jack to coke. whatever you like really.

Jack & Coke ratio can be anything, it all depends on your taste. It's not like some fancy cocktail where getting the ratio wrong completely throws off the flavor profile.

1:1, 2:1, 3:1, 1:2, just add more of one or the other until you get it where it's right for you

And that depends on the day of the week, how stressful work/kids were that day, and if the wife is feeling frisky and giving me signals.

But back to the ratio question, I have some smaller glasses from buying bottles around Christmas when they add them for gift packages. They're single, not a double old-fashioned glass. Maybe 6 oz. I usually do 2:1 mixer to liquor in those. They go down pretty fast, and don't get watered down from ice melting like in a larger glass. If I am using a Yeti or similar tumbler, I go more 50/50.

Fill a 9 oz glass with ice level with the top, add 1.5oz of booze. Fill. Enjoy.

I'll also add that if you're mixing, get something that doesn't usually lend itself to drinking straight up. JD is a good one, but I usually go back and forth between Old Forester 86 and 100 proof, depending on what the store has when I go. Usually 100 if they have it. I will drink it straight, but I'm usually just pouring a mixed drink anyways and it is a good product for the price for that.

One large cube of ice and 2 ounces of Bourbon is all that you need to mix.

Bloody Mary: 3 parts mix to 1 part vodka. Full glass of ice.

Bourbon and Coke: 50/50, glass 3/4 full of ice.

Margarita: half glass ice, 50/50

Occasionally make a Manhattan or Sidecar. Usually go by the book on those mixes.

How big is the glass?

For a rocks glass, 2/3 a glass of ice, 1.50 to 2 oz's JD and topped off with fresh coca cola to just under the rim, and given a gently stir to "fizz" up the coca cola. It's the perfect drink.

For any highball or the like:

Ice in the glass leaving 1/2 inch at the top.

1/3 liquor

2/3 mixer

For your basic cocktails like whiskey/soft drink, vodka cranberry, gin/tonic, etc, you put as much liquor as you want

Now for fancy cocktails you are making for guests, look up recipes of how much to put if you are new to making drinks. If you are making a whiskey/soft drink for a newbie, keep to it one jigger per drink.

Jack and coke two or three times a week. 32 ounce Turvis cup filled halfway with ice. Four shots of jack, top it off with coke.
