yep; check out my post on here from january if you missed it the first go-round. men's health did an article a couple years ago on all this that got shamefully little attention.

P.S. Here's me.

you actually carry your weight well. once you start dropping people will definitely notice. if you mention atkins expect to get flogged and people to tell you how unhealthy it is.

ignore the haters. you'll be laughing all the way to a 100lb+ loss.

i'll never understand how some people have the nerve to criticize someone who is clearly improving their life because they heard such-and-such about the way they're eating.

food is food. just ask the chinese whose intake of food is 95% rice and they aren't dropping dead left and right. atkins gives you a helluva lotta good choices; meat veggies, dairy, etc...much better vitamin and mineral intake than some so-called fat-free diets.

oh and dean ornish is SATAN. that guy has done more to hurt the american public's health and toe the government food line than anyone.

fact: 100lb loss >>>> anybody's opinion about 'your're doing it wrong'. all your health markers will be GREAT SHAPE after that kind of loss.

ps dont forget a multivitamin..if for no other reason than this will help ensure you don't miss any important vitamins as your body transitions from carb-burning to fat-burning.

i can't wait to hear your thoughts on this after being on it 2 weeks.

The true key to success is finding something that works for you. Everyone is different. What works for me may not work for the next person. But, take it one day at a time. The old saying "begin with the end in mind" does not apply. That just adds too much pressure.

One day at a time. You are in it for the long haul.

The scale has been moving in the wrong damn direction the last couple of days.

Actually, I am just slowing down so I don't embarrass you Cad. I want to at least make the race look competitive.

Stupid Walmart!

It appears there is nothing my bitching can accomplish. The delivery date is March 4 to a store that already has the damn bike in stock.

Can't cure stupid.

I have no idea why their order system doesn't check the site scheduled for pickup before issuing an order from the main warehouse but evidently the monkeys that put the software package in place never thought to check the actual pick up spot.

/Rant

I guess this is double rant Thursday. Stick around and I'm sure I'll find something else to rant about since it is only 6am.

Yeah I already take Men's One-A-Day. The problem with that is I have to take the gummy bear kind because I have a sensitive gag reflex so I gag on the big horse pills that are normally men's one a day (I'd make a bad gay lover ). The carb count on it is 1 carb per vitamin, gotta take 2 vitamins per dose. And my fiber supplement has 2 grams of non-fiber carbs, so I'm down 4 grams of carbs from just vitamins :( but it'll be worth it.

CAD: What do you mean by "carry your weight well"? My posture or how the weight is distributed on my body? My weight is primarily on my chest, stomach, and thighs. My calfs are very strong, very defined, and rock hard. My forearms, as you can see, don't have much fat on them either, and my biceps either.. but my triceps have some flab and it's embarassing. I have a powerful frame and I can lift a good amount of weight but just not for long If you mean posture that's because they forced good posture upon me when I was in JROTC in high school. I learned how to "walk proud".

well continuing on the gay theme no what i was saying is i wouldn't have put you at 300+ from this pic. i've seen people at 250 that look heavier than you do. the point being is taht when you start dropping the weight it will definitely be noticeable.

Weekly check in 258/231.8/187 12/26/10

I upped the water (with no change in calorie intake) the past four days and have gone down 3.5lbs. It's like magic.

moving more and eating less has worked these last 2 weeks. I'm down 4.5 since Feb 14. Only 11 more to go. Disney for Mardi Gras week is my next hurdle. I'm hoping the food sucks.

fast day 2 today. only drinking water and coffee.

I don't advocate this...but feels good to periodically shock your system.

It was me.

And it backfired on me too and sent me creeping up the scale instead of down.

Hit 230 this morning! Have not been here is five years. For those who don't think it's calories in & out plus DRINKING WATER, just ask me. I dropped 5-lbs since Monday by increasing my water intake. I was stuck for nine days with very little weight loss. More water + watching the calorie intake = fat falling off.

CAD and Myth - thanks for the info. I'm now seeing the physical results and I'm more pumped. I'm going to race to 220!
