I'm broke and lazy. For me having an easy routine is what actually keeps me from quitting.

I mix it up some. I have done the scrambled egg thing, hard boiled, omelet and fried. I used to eat bacon too before I realized I needed to watch my sodium too.

I've done stewed chicken, red beans with sausage, tunafish and other chicken dishes for lunch but in th end it is much easier to make several days worth of meals in the crockpot. Lately I have been alternating stewed chicken and red beans. Putting some beans in tonight.

Dinner is the meal that is almost always the same. burger patty and salad.

Heck, my recent poverty has probably aided my diet. I am not sure I would have ever started the diet and stayed on it if I wasn't flat broke this whole time.

To each their own!

I get a lot of leftovers from my parents, which really helps since cooking isn't my favorite. Love the recipes on this website, too.

They should also be cheaper because you are making portions last longer.

What I used to eat in 3 days is now stretched to 9 or 10 days.

The actual components used to make my meals adds a little expense. It is cheaper to eat unhealthy than healthy, but I make up for the added expense by eating less at each meal so the food lasts longer.

Morning fellow foodaholics.

323/206.2/185

Cad

I pulled the trigger and bought a cheapie bike. Not going to tell you what since I don't want the ugly looks from the Bike Whisperer.

Anything that has wheels and gets me moving again is great.

Na. Road bike. I am too damn old and clumsy to be doing anything other than riding on smooth level pavement in full body armor.

209/201.4/190. Getting near the magical 199.9 mark.

I figured something out last week with the help of this board. I was not drinking enough water and I was eating too much Sodium. I thought I was eating light by just eating a sandwich and a salad at work. The problem was the ham sandwich. The problem is that all cold cuts have a ton of Sodium. So from now on I will switch to a peanut butter sandwich. I was 208 after my Friday morning spin class, but after drinking water all weekend, a lot of that water weight came right off. I feel like there is still some more to come off, so I will see what happens after a few more days of heavy water drinking.

Cold cuts are horrific unless you use one little tiny slice and that probably still has 250 mgs.

I am going to add sandwiches back in the meal plan once I hit my weight goal but I will make a turkey breast on my own to limit sodium.

Water weight is a pain and usually occurs the day after a high sodium intake. Not always but more often than not.

Oh and gratz on nearing the big mark.

Water is important because without it the body won't break down fat and flush it out.

Plus when your body gets dehydrated, it then hold on to excess water since it thinks there is a drought.

SWEET!!!!!!

i love road riding..get your arse out on river road (are you in baton rouge?) and try doing some 5-10 mile loops. you will love it. nothing like the peace and quiet of a long stretch of road with the wind in your face. i live for the times i can get out and ride.

eta get a computer..don't give me that look..you can pick one up for $10 or $20 at walmart or somewhere. it will tell you speed, distance and a few other things as well as being an odometer. its a great way to set goals (distance or speed) and see how you do against them.

I'm down thirty since this thread started. I'll have to look at when.

I lately have given up all breads, pasta and madesome aioli to limit that fat intake. I switched to sea salt which you need very little of to get the taste which in itself is reducing your sodium intake. Most sodium we ingest is through processed foods anyway. That's where we really need to read labels.

I drink probably a gallon to gallon and a half of water daily so I rarely have sodium problems. I just stay hydrated. Now after eating boiled crawfish THAT is when I can tell. Can't take my wedding ring off for a day.

And the only alcohol I've had in the last couple months has been red wine. No hard liquor and wine in moderation. Well...except for Saturday night.
