My exact mentality when I started this.

I told myself I would kill myself for a year and finally get the damn weight off.

The one year thing seems harsh, but I also stopped drinking in March 09, so one year is a piece of cake compared to Never Again.

As I get closer to the one year mark, I realize I am going to need a little longer to actually reach my final goal, but that little longer is a piece of cake compared to a year.

I figure by June 1, I will be on maintenance for the rest of my life but that will be easy peasy japaneasy after over a year on this diet.

I am also squarely in the camp of weighing daily even though this can lead to some frustration and anger (as it has this week with no loss) but it does show you when you need to make some changes.

First time below 260 since about 1986.

A serious warning to dieters, especially those over 35, it look like I'm going to have to have gallstone surgery, my weight loss could be a contributing factor. There are ways to minimize this risk, consult your doctor before and during your weight loss.

Yeah, I know. It was only $120 plus shipping though. Also get the diet plan and other stuff when I ordered from them.

I'm curious about this. Did you cut out all fats even good fats in moderation from your diet?

Did not cut out fats, just ate a balanced diet, no junk food, little fast food, kept calories below 1500 per diem, drank a lot of fluids. Most fluids are filtered water used to make iced tea, maybe 1 or 2 soft drinks a day and usually 2/3 cups of coffee.

Women get gallstones 80/20 over men, but I have some hereditary factors.

Ah. Thanks for the info. I will start following in here.

I have never had weight problems, but as I am getting older, I am beginning weight issues. This will be motivating.

I am very impressed with folks that get it done and happy for them.

Don't beat yourself up. Look at the tremendous progress you've made over the long haul. Just stay on your plan and keep your eye on the prize and the rest is gravy. Er...poor choice of words, but you get the point

Good job myth. You are, without a doubt, the biggest loser.

Had a bad 2 days due to a 50th birthday party for a close friend. Luckily I prepared fairly well I guess. Didn't gain any. Refocused Monday morning. 248/237/215

dont give up myth! i had a nasty fall on my bike this weekend...hit a patch of black ice and bounced my head off the concrete (good thing i had a helmet on) but my neck is pretty sore today and i got a good case of road rash up my leg.

i'm hitting a plateau of sorts as well..although i'm doubling up on the protien powder this week and i got about 50 cycling miles in this weekend despite the cold.

it will start to move again when you least expect it. just stay the path.
