welcome and good luck
I thought 1500 cals was starvation a few months ago, but since I started keeping track, that is really a ceiling rather than a floor.
170/157/150
Mothers day damage wasn't as bad as I thought.
Sore throat and post-nasal drip is what's getting me. No exercise for a few days. I think Zyrtec is making me retain fluids.

I'm struggling badly guys. Not on the diet, but emotionally. Obviously yesterday was mother's day, but tomorrow is my mom's birthday as well.
CT, how are you holding up? I know yesterday was very trying for you as well.

209/192.1/180 Last update about a month ago was 196.6. Doing about a pound a week is fine with me as long as I'm still making progress. I'm not really dieting, it's more like a lifestyle change. Still spinning on average 4 times a week for at least an hour and watching carbs. I eat pretty much whatever I want but on special occasions, but limit what I eat the rest of the time. Almost to my original goal of 190, but want to go lower. I'm not sure how low I can go, but with my stocky build (big bones and big legs from spinning) I think 175 might be low limit.

Hulk, I am sorry to hear this. My husband lost his cousin and best friend in September and is still not doing well emotionally. It is hard and takes time to get through it. Hang in there. Your mom would be extremely proud of your success. Remember that.
220/215/150 4.26.11 Some kind of way 3 pounds crept back up even though I am eating better than I ever have before. It is so easy to gain but so hard to lose.

I know that has to be tough Hulk. Hang in there. Not sure what your beliefs are, but wanted to let you know that I said a little prayer for you this morning.

You are in my thoughts. You have definately have your times that are real tough sledding and all you can do it try to think of the positives that person left with. It is very tough and something that you will have to deal with every year (some are good; some are bad). I lost my father in my teens and I never know what each year is going to be like on those special days.
We are here for you (as much as someone can be on a message board).

Thoughts are with you hulk. Keep at it. You are doing great under very tough circumstances.
Meanwhile I am doing terrible under much easier circumstances.
The past weekend was horrible for eating and exercise.
Packed 4 pounds back on although I am sure much of that is water weight or at least I hope it is.
No more cheats until 185. I can't think of anything else happening in the next month that will be an eating challenge.
FULL HERMIT MODE SHIELDING ACTIVATED!!!

H, let the emotion flow. tell her how much you miss her. get a family member or close friend on the phone (no texting) and reminisce. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Thanks everyone. It's been rough but I'm holding it together at work. I'm off tomorrow so who knows what kind of state of mind I'm going to be in.

It'll get better in time.
200.6 and my blood pressure is 110/78. Far cry from the 217/147 back in February when the doctor wanted to be hospitalized.

hey guys..just checking in. climbed 5 mountains in 2 days (suck creek mtn in tn, sand mtn in al, lookout mtn in ga, suck creek mtn AGAIN and signal mtn)..100 miles on saturday and 50 miles on sunday.
here's my computer calorie data for the 2 days:
SAT Calories burned: 8457
SUN Calories burned: 3288
my weight on friday morning? 197.
my weight today? 196.
its because i was destroyed and kept eating after the rides.
the point being..no one on here is going to put out the kind of exercise numbers I did..it just about killed me.
so remember this the next time someone says massive cardio will help you lose weight.
the good news?? i freaking flew up suck creek mountain like a wild banshee. i averaged 11.2mph for 6 miles. i've never EVER climbed like that before.
the big race is this coming sat. if i can manage a repeat performance i got a shot at doing decent. there's one 3 mile climb in the middle and the rest of the course fits me to a T.

Are you saying you ate approximately 8000 'extra' calories (or are you saying the computer calorie count is wrong)?

Damn Cad, hard for me to come on here and complain about my little windy 16 mile bike ride when you are off conquering mountains.
It was really hot for the first time out there. This was the first ride I came back soaking wet and it isn't even that hot out there yet.
I definitely need to get a water bottle rig, next time I am at Walmart.

I have typed and erased 3 replies because this seems to be an oxymoron considering the previous posts and replies.

Wow, y'all. You two are slacking again. I'm gonna beat y'all to goal.
Hulk, hang in there, Dude. I'm good, but thanks for thinking of me. Our mother situations were quite different.
